Hmmm. should have bought in pc fair... crazy freebies that time. even free microsoft office 2007 and extended warranty and many many more.
well if u dont think the freebies is of much use to u then i recommend u go to sonystyle and buy. better aftersales service.

from what i read previously, SOME sony centre shops have lousy technician. u bring in the laptop to them and they say nothing wrong... they are not really willing to help u repair.. thats what i read from other forumers

but if sonystyle they have trained technician and they will listen carefully to what u say.
of coz all vaio can be sent to mid valley service centre to repair. but sometimes ppl lazy to go to mid vallet and just prefer to go to the shop where they buy it.

furthermore if u buy from sonystyle then u can arrange for pick up. no need u to travel so far.

note: i am not discouraging u from buying in sony centre. not all sony centre is bad. maybe is just one of them.

Yeah crazy in deed. My wife got a lot of value from there and it is something we need, not something we can live without. Anyway buying a Sony VAIO with Sony official warranty entitles you to the same Sony after sales services. I don't think you can get a VAIO from non-Sony providers. Unless you're talking about those that doesn't have a proper official warranty.
*
i dunno whether u can bring a vaio to sonystyle for service if u did not buy from them. i know for sure can bring to mid valley.
but also i read that for pick up service u have to buy from sonystyle.

yes, you are right...btw, no matter u buy at dealer or sony style..the profit still go to Sony..so why dont pay more a bit to get more accurate information and service??normally dealer dont give after sales service..their job is to get as much as possible sales by using all the ways...
*
err.. actually u r not paying more when buy from sonystyle. as a matter of fact, if u pay by credit card u are getting it cheaper. sonystyle does not charge commission for credit card purchase while sony centre does charge betrween 2% to 5%
but then of coz sony centre give more freebies but if u think u dont like the freebies then better just get from sonystyle

hi people, might be join vaio family soon as im thinking to buy sr12g
but kind of confused.... does it worth? (coz i know nothing abt choosing laptop!! lol )hmm.... but i really like the design sooooooo much lol
btw, i have few questions here
- where to buy will be better? as i have read some previous discussion, it seems like it will be better to purchase from sonystyle,is it true?
- when to buy? as i know the promotion now (im not sure whether its still on or not) is giving 1 year international warrenty but free nothing. so, i would like to ask is there anything knows the price of upgrade the warrenty to international? its important to me as i am going uk soon.
besides, do u guys think sony will have any promotion for sr within this month?

thanks first  biggrin.gif
*
1st question : Does it worth?
Answer: everybody in sony thread will tell u that if u like the design then of coz it is worth. its worth the style

2nd question: where to buy?
Answer: if it was pc fair period i will certainly by from pc fair coz unbelievable freebies. But if normal days like now I would go to Sonystyle. Please dont buy www.sonystyle.com.my coz u need to check the product. and sonystyle direct store sometimes give a little bit more freebies compare to online

3rd question:
I dunno whether u can upgrade the international warranty. International warranty is for one year only. If u upgrade warranty I think it will only be local upgrade. upgrade to 2 years is rm 380. upgrade to 3 years is RM 580. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THIS> BETTER CALL SONYSTYLE FOR CORRECT INFO

THIS IS IMPORTANT INFO! FOR THOSE WANTING TO BUY VAIO. FROM SONY WEBSITE IT STATES THAT THERE WILL BE A VAIO ROADSHOW @ PLAZA LOWYAT KL FROM 18-24 AUG. CHECK IT OUT AS THERE MIGHT BE GREAT DEALS

You wrong man, Sony Style don't have any technician working in the shop. Only in Service center they have technician. What they can do is they will try to solve the issue of your VAIO, if they can't find the solution they will advice you either send your VAIO to the Service Center or advice you on how to solve the problem by yourself.

Added on August 17, 2008, 9:37 pmBut the best thing is, no matter where you bought your VAIO, they will treat you equally the same as a VAIO/SONY user..
*
i dont really agree with ur statement. actually sonystyle do have "technician" although not to extend of repairing if got serious problems.. if u bring the vaio laptop they will have basic knowledge and can repair minor problems. and sonystyle staff will also listen to all problems and will really resolve it.... if they cannot resolve it they will bring it to repair by themselve.. they will not ask u to send it by urself to midvalley.. although it may be faster if u send it urself

and i beg to disagree to ur statement that no matter where u bring ur vaio they will have equal treatment. in sonystyle the quality of the stuff is really controlled. the stuff are required to give detail information about the products and not focus on SALES... in sony centre the stuff MIGHT not know about the products and will just focus on sales.

OF COZ AS I SAY NOT ALL SONY CENTRE ARE LIKE THAT. MAYBE IT IS A FEW OR ONLY ONE OF THEM. But in sonystyle u can be assured that they will resolve all problems. but in sony centre the salesman can just BS u and say nothing wrong and say IT IS LIKE THAT.
Please remember sonystlye is SONY DIRECT STORE and they cannot afford to piss of customers.

that is my personal experience i am speaking of and also read from other forumers.

First of all the reason why i replied to ur post is coz u said that i was wrong

i dont see which part i was wrong. when i say technician it does mean they know something. they can solve a lot of things. they only dont have the parts for vaio. so basically i call them technician as oppose to salemans. if u dont get my definition on technician dont have to say i am wrong....

i am not expanding ur point. i was agreeing to ur point and defining my term of technician. unfortunately u dont understand what i am saying... didn't u see the " " signs on the word technician???

and i still dont agee that u say no matter where u bring vaio get same treatment. i have given clear statements that there are diff treatment as sonystyle stuff give good service and SOME sony centre just focus on sales but dont give good after sales services.

SonyStyle not focus on sales?? who said??
SonyStyle part timers are the people focus on sales...the service part is permenant job...They do focus on sales and always thinking how to increase the sales but not as crazy as sony centre..
*
hehe... i didnt know that... i feel very comfotable when go to sonystyle coz I can just play with all the things there without the salesman crowding around me forcing me to buy all this and that...last time i spend hours in sonystlye without any salesman coming up to me and ask whehter i want to buy anything.... but they really did give me details bout the laptop i bought...

@maxizanc
i misunderstood and tot u talk bout "evrywhere". tats why i surprised when u quote my words and say ur points not wrong....
i bought TZ36.

yeah.... many salesperson are under pressure by boss...

at sonystyle i think their salesperson are asked not to act agressively... coz sonystyle direct store main concept is to educate consumers about integrating technology into lifestyle and serve as showcase for sony products and services.

i have been to sony style the curve and klcc.. at both places they just let ppl browse through and take their time...
and when ask questions they will give detailed answers and then they will move away when u dont need them... they wont like u walk one step they walk one step... and if u ask a lot of questions and dont buy also they are very fine with it....
it just feels so much service compared to sales.

yup u can get ur vaio on the spot. however i think u would be charge the aditional 2%-5% coz the roadshow is run by mtcs.. not so sure

but i know for sure that sonystyle direct store in klcc, curve, times square do not charge the 2%. and if u using maybank creditcard u can get 24 months installment. but sonystyle will most probably not offer that much freebies..

seriously got 24 months but only for MAYBANK credit card. IN sonystyle the curve i get it. 24 months. although online say 12 months but if u go direct store then can get 24 months

EDIT: Even if u call the sonystyle centre, they dont know whether it is 12 or 24 months. last time i call they say only maybank sony card can get 24 months then i call again they say cannot. then i call again they say can 36 months.. haha make me so confuse... so in the end i just went straight to the store and really can get 24 months.
note that u cannot get 12 months if u buy online even with maybank card.. must go to the sonystyle direct store

yup...
but the one thing that i cannot tolerate is reduced brightness... it spoils the whole concept of the LED backlit....

unless there is "new" thread for Club VAIO or the thread starter going back here.

for now, just an open discussion, information, feedback etc.

Pre order gift W300 Digital Camera worth RM1399 + Leather Case Bag worth RM 699

So good bye my Acer tongue.gif

COOL!!.. I kinda regret buying my Sony TZ so early.... Just buy and then Vaio Z comes out. with great price too.. and if minus the price for the camera and leather bag then it is cheaper than vaio TZ..

TZ ans Z series is same model?
*
nope... TZ spec is lower than Z series

But TZ still is lighter and long life battery compared to Z

but for Z specs I would say that the weight and battery life is very good
