QUOTE(friedricetheman @ Nov 30 2016, 06:32 PM) From my observations, those who will have many wants are less happy than those with many needs. so u saying rich people very stingy is it?You can tell that a person is wealthy when the person dressed very simple but neat with no visible labels. Only a poor person will show off their designer labels. A wealthy person spends more on food than on electronics and fashion. Only a poor person would spend their food money on the latest gadgets and handbags. There are tell tale signs when a person is financially secured - he/she still travels abroad even when the ringgit is tanking, he/she's wallet is stuff full of 100 ringgit notes and only pays with cash all the time. Other telltale signs include a mid tier car but with an expensive old number plate (single or double digit) which shows that the person is from an old rich family. Does not like to show off. Very low profile about his life or where he lives. Also will try to not show off his watch and downplays it when friends notice his expensive watch. Poor people would buy a car on 7-10 year loan and would usually buy entry level cars from Mercedes, BMW. A-class and 1-series are cars of choice for posers. Poor people also wear designer labels on the outside and make sure people notice their fake watch or entry level watch. Rich people will go for the mid tier pricing for any luxury watch brands they buy into. The expensive upper tier of a luxury brand is reserved for posers whom saved up for a decade or more to afford it but after that, cannot afford to service the watch as it costs 4-5 digits to repair it every 3-5 years. Poor people drink at bars and clubs where overpriced drinks are being sold. Rich people drink at home in their mini bar away from the noise and bar plebeians. Anything else that I missed out? Looking at my list, I think I am more poor than rich. |

If you have nothing to contribute to the topic, better to keep quiet and not post anything at all.If you scroll though the posts, you will see that even posts that didn't agree with my views were being left alone and not deleted. You and your buddy, however, were posting stuff that were off topic and confrontational in nature in order to either get me to join your mini flame war or to stir up anger due to you two are having a bad day and needed a whipping boy to take it out on. Well, sure you can post your disagreement to the topic at hand but please leave the anger and hate at the door. Too much hate and racism exists in the world today and we definately do not need lowyat forums to be turned into a toxic place. |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Dec 1 2016, 02:40 PM) Everything if possible... Nope and certainly great insight.Like for example do u know the SSPN/Tax rebate abuse? Well.. further to that...now u can pay with credit card... charges is 53 cents extra... but u get a free gift including Samsung power bank... and some cards gives u 1% cash back.... and the bank finance your purchase for more then 30 + 20 days if u timed it correctly... in that time.. u already withdrawn your $$ out form sspn again and u can pay your CC. So basically zero cost form you. I presumed the free gift of you mentioned is actually from redemption point? |

Now, I already max out "life insurance and EPF" and "Insurance premium for education and medical benefit". Your clause on SSPN saving scheme struck me but right now, I don't know whether it is still eligible for continuous years. |

For me, I will usually calculate the time to save those money to the time I used to make some for passive income. It's hard to save money anymore when everything is hiking and every unnecessary stuff has been dully cut off. I can only save until an extend but further on, I might need to find additional incremental income source then. |
