Dear sifus, will be getting my unit today. Just wan to ask if there's any ota to date and should I update? Coming from P1 turbo and very bad experience after the marshmallow update which gave me extremely high android system and idle power drain, hard reset for countless times and still persists. Finally decided to give up and trade in for the P2 and hopefully the whole experience wont be ruined by stupid software again.

Meaning that I should stick with the s032 out of the box? On the previous phone actually was working fine until the day i couldn't resist the tangan gatal. However i do notice that having fb and messenger installed on your phone will kill the battery faster no matter what you do (restrict app in power manager and use less of the apps)

Social apps imo is how u really test the battery life of ur phone,  for my wife 5k (mi max or a9 pro)  x cukup coz she too fimiliar with 9.3k on her note 2.

Btw swiftkey will autorun fb or twitter on the background.
*
At one point of time I was able to get about 8 hours of SOT with heavy usage on messenger the whole day, but everything just fell apart after the marshmallow update. Not alot considering the battery size, but i need those apps anyway so no choice. Not using swiftkey btw, using the default google keyboard.

Got my unit in grey (wanted the gold same as my p1 turbo but no stock atm). Everything good so far, using the out of the box rom and no voice recording issue noted. Battery % was 63 out of the box but a sudden drop to 57 after both sim inserted for a while. But it slowly settled down and the whole set up process only drained few %. No fb/messenger installed yet, shall test the real endurance before 'ruining' the battery life with those two power eater.

Hang on... No recording of voice issue for stock ROM S032_ROW...?

Let us know the WhatsApp call quality too.

Tested the voice recording for video, no issue. As for whatsapp call, shall test tmr and report back. It seems like now there's only one launcher built in? I actually prefer the vibe ui with no app drawer. This current one there's no way to organise app folders in the app menu?

U r one in a thousands that prefer to use the VibeUI... Enjoy ur new born P1 Turbo... What happen to the P1 Turbo? Resell?
*
Haha, did not like it at first on the p780, but after s860, p70 and 2x P1, am kinda used to that already so it feels not right to not use it. Yup traded the p1 turbo for this. I notice the speaker is quite prone to distortion even at just 80 or 90%, especially on phone calls or certain tracks. Anyone having this problem?

How about audio recording?
*
I tested with a short clip of my tablet playing some tunes, apart from sounding not so loud, overall audio quality was ok (could be my speaker volume too as i mentioned, i notice some distortion so dint go all the way up, maybe like 70%)

Record using the stock SnapIt camera or other camera apps?
*
Using the stock camera app. Okay just did another test in my car, now i can confirm that your finding is true as the audio sounds tiny and thin despite my car stereo filling up the whole cabin. Whatsapp call quality remained good though. Anyone facing the speaker distortion as mine? Probably need some break in for the speaker till it settles down.

My unit doesn't have the speaker distortion. Perhaps the bass overpowering the treble that makes the distortion. Try music with less bass to check any difference...

Me on latest S048 ROW ROM...
*
It happens even for ring tone and calls on loud speakers, arghh. Still dare not to turn volume to max

Me think u hv the 3Watts speaker instead of 1.5Watt...LOL... Anyway, set volume to 50% also very loud edy.. the external speakers is like Bluetooth speaker quality...Hyper-loud...

I'm still hunting the engineering mode to tune down the decibel settings...
*
Lol if problem still persist might have to send for replacement, sad case. To my ears it is loud, but not very much louder than others, but can definitely feel the vibration at max volume lol

I am starting to believe that i might have a problem with the speaker as i am facing crackling even when i keep the volume at less than 80%, this happens in certain parts of the YouTube videos that i play (mostly human voice) IMO it shouldn't be hardware problem as it happens even at lower volume (correct me if i am wrong) so could it be a software problem which can be fixed by hard reset or the row048 update?

On certain tracks/videos i get the distortion even at 50% volume. Anyways sent to SC for warranty claim and hopefully it'll come back in good shape.

Hope semua ok.

Yamcha with kwn last night,  they did share same prob with their p2,  some already send their phone to sc.  Expected to get it back 3 to 4 weeks time..

Same stuff,  camera,  audio n etc that seems to be software bugs but it apparently nope..  Hope my unit just bug.

My local SC said 3 days to 2 weeks, but it would seem impossible to me because CNY is in two weeks.

My local sc just confirmed that my exchange request has been rejected and will proceed with repair. Hopefully it doesnt come back with any new problem and im particularly paranoid with the battery, god knows what they might do to my phone during repair. Meanwhile, seriously thinking if i should sell the set and get a brand new one or 'upgrade' to the moto z play (price wise).
