I think this phone is only for people that want decent spec and great battery life.

If custom rom is the priority, 1+2 or top up a bit for 1+3

Most likely only 1 Android update, which is Nougat. At least it's something.

Lenovo is quite lazy when it comes to updating their phones, but they were worse before acquiring Motorola. Maybe they learned a thing or two from Motorola.

At least they're still better than some certain brand that sells overpriced mediocre phones with "selfie expert" gimmick and leave their customers stuck on Lollipop.

Average consumers wouldn't be willing to do those complicated rooting stuffs.

Tbh, it's the manufacturer that should do the update for us, not us doing for ourselves.

Techies can go all wild on rooting and flashing their phones for the sake of interest and curiosity, but average consumers expect good after sales support from the manufacturer which includes software updates.

A mid range phone like the P2 should get at least 2 Android updates IMO.

Is the second sim slot data/4g capable also, or is it just the one slot for data? Can anyone confirm?
Historically, lenovo phones had been a mixed bag in this aspect. My lenovo vibe shot can do 4g on both sim slots. Other models not so lucky.

The cheapo Vibe P1m has both SIMs supporting 4G bands.

This P2 is defined as "Professional" series by LeMoto. So, my hypothesis is both SIMs will support 4G bands.

It's CONFIRMED that:
1) Both SIM slots support VoLTE (YES Telco), and
2) Dual active SIM, meaning this P2A42 supports 4G+3G simultaneously...Hoorah!!!

The next doubt is whether:
1) Both SIM slots support VoLTE or not at all, and
2) Dual active SIM, meaning SIM 1 connects to 4G LTE and SIM 2 connects 3G/HSDPA simultaneously... Usually, 4G+2G simultaneously. Hopefully, this P2A42 supports 4G+3G simultaneously...

When you say 3g, do you mean data 3g or voice 3g?
Currently there is no clarity on when Malaysian telco will kill off 2g, so I think 4g (data) and 2g (voice) is still acceptable.

What is not acceptable would be if, in this day and age, they still have 4g and 2g only slot (I mean only 1slot being data capable).

Me too. I value battery life very much. So as long as the performance is enough (I mean, no need for top of the line performance), good battery life rulezzz.
When coupled with power efficient screen, even better.

Further good news.

webe telco will be launching new TD-LTE 2300MHz (ie TDD Band 40) next year.

Our LeMoto P2 supports all major telcos' frequency including webe for LTE as well as HSDPA.
