Did not start Ultimate Spider-Man.... got on F4 and X-Men bandwagon due to collected HC for F4 on offer and X-Men due to Ult. Psylocke.

Was waiting for Omnibus which till now 150 issues - nada.
*
Kinokuniya still sell all Ultimate Spidey TPB. BTW, I have Ultimate Spidey #1-5 (Bendis/Bagley). How much the market price for these books? whistling.gif

Guys, if I were to start reading X-Men, which would you advise to go for?

Astonishing, Uncanny or Legacy?
*
Astonishing. (Whedon/Cassaday). Superb book. Been considered as one of the best X-Men run ever.

BTW, I advise you get trade paperback/Hardcover for any X-Men book.

Yup already read the Josh Whedon's arc, the one with Kitty Pryde and the bullet right? smile.gif

Is the arc after that worth reading? Been tempted to start on Uncanny now since it's a new arc...
*
Astonishing after Whedon/Cassaday left a bit disappointed (for me). Uncanny (Matt Fraction) is ok. One reason I bought it because of Greg Land art.

One more thing, if you want a team book (non X-Men), get Nextwave. thumbup.gif

For Marvel book, I recommend (get em in TPB - cheaper & easy)

1. Secret War (Bendis)
2. Avengers Disassambled
3. New Avengers
4. Captain America (Ed Brubaker's run)
5. Daredevil (Vol.2)
6. Civil War
7. Invincible Iron Man
8. Thor (JMS run)
9. Secret Invasion
10. Siege
11. Wolverine: Old Man Logan
12. Ultimates (Vol 1 & 2)

DC
1. Green Lantern (Geoff Johns run include Rebirth)
2. Green Lantern Corps
3. Blackest Night
4. Superman (Geoff Johns run)

No love for the batman? sad.gif
*
Current? Nope. But these Batman's book is a good read

1. Dark Knight Returns
2. Batman : Year One
3. Batman : Knightfall
4. Batman : Knightsend
5. Batman : Hush (Jim Lee art's rocks!)
6. JLA (Grant Morrison - Batman in this book is damn cool!)
7. Kingdom Come

BTW, if you search for TPB/Hardcover, go to Kinokuniya KLCC. A huge list of titles there.

One thing I don't like about Batman is their art-team is not consistent. One month the art is good..next month it sucks.. for example The Return of Bruce Wayne series. Issue 1 damn good art..issue 2 & the rest just sweat.gif

Received my 1st US comics today, Blackest Night - Green Lantern..Looking for completion of the series in the next few days..haha

Very noob here. Thought I could use this as a new hobby. I'm always interested since being a kid, but had no money before..  biggrin.gif

Welcome to the club. Since you like Blackest Night. Check out other Geoff Johns GL books. (get the TPB or HC..easier to find)

- Rebirth
- No Fear
- Revenge of the GL
- Wanted: Hal Jordan
- Sinestro Corps War <---- IMO, better than Blackest Night.
- Secret Origin
- Rage of the Red Lantern
- Blackest Night (Tie-in)

Also check out GL Corps

- Recharge
- To Be A Lantern
- The Dark Side of Green
- Ring Quest
- Sins of the Sapphire
- Emerald Eclipse
- Blackest Night (Tie-in)

All this is IMO, is a must have for collection.

PS - Eric, count me in in da club.

Kinokuniya got Empowered?
Empowered is really TL:DR comics lol
*
In terms of TPB/HC, Kinokuniya has almost all of the mainstream comics HC/TPB in their store. That's why I don't need any comic stores anymore. All in Kinokuniya. whistling.gif

Except for Green Lantern's line, I didn't collect any other DC books. Superman a bit boring since Geoff Johns left. Batman, except for early issues of Batman & Robin, the rest..not interested. Other DCU..mcm tak best jek (except The Flash..this one ok sikit..wait for TPB)

BTW, latest haul

do you guys know where to get Warlands TPB?
I want to buy Warlands:Darklyte Armor and Warlands: Age of Ice.
Kinokuniya don't have it
*
Try ebay bro. But most comics comes from US so, the shipment mahal sikit ler..

BTW, anyone here knows if there is any comic shops still sell Steampunk #12? Just wiki the title & it said it has 12 issue. (I have #1-11 before I quit comics 7-8 years ago).
Also, let me know if you guys know if they sell Scion #23-43.

How about the shipment? I found one in ebay but the price+shipment=RM40. RM40 for a single comic is expensive.

Any of you guys know where to get the full Watchmen comic? I saw it last year at CF 09 and a company was selling some special edition of it that included pre-artwork and stuff.
*
Full single issue. Rare & expensive bro. Better buy the HC or TPB.

Wow... almost 3 years anniversary for this thread...

Anyways.... like all media/prints... going digital is the way for the future... safe trees too, potentially cost less,
*
Nothing better than read comic books by holding it. Read digital didn't have the 'feel'.
