So brother Chua means my keyboard's switch is not Hot-Swappable like easy-plug-n-play that already available in the market.
If i wanna replace the switch then i have to go through the complicated processes like unscrew, open cover, unmount switches, mount switches?? Did i get you right?? Let me know if i am wrong.

If that so.. I AM TRULY FINE WITH IT!!  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  Because it's WORTH!! hahah!!  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Guys.. Anyone knows any Cool Key Caps available which are less than RM40? I want WSADQEFZXC for Dota 2 one.
Let me know the websites. I searched Lazada already.. too bad the cool key caps all RM40 above. Thanks bro  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  notworthy.gif

for more choices, please explore at taobao.

you can even get thin double-shot pbt full-104 key cap sets (oem profile) for like myr 30 without shipping. if you don't mind weird key legends, i think it's a good buy (functionally i mean; i have some, they are really pbt, but thin).

edit: a note - very affordable key cap sets at taobao usually come with less efforts in qc. in general they are functionally ok, but with various levels of minor defects here and there. it's really up to one's fault tolerance in terms of defects.

Thanks for your info. But i don't really trust the quality of Tao Bao, I had gone through the website.
Boss i wanna ask you a simple question (i think it is laugh.gif )
Is my keyboard able to install this since it is meant for Cherry MX keyboard ?? ==> Translucent Doubleshot ABS 106pcs KeyCaps For Cherry MX Keyboard Replace
Of course some of them might not fit like ESC and etc.. but as long as the normal one fit then okay already.

when you purchase stuff from taobao first make sure the sellers are of good reputations (e.g. blue or gold diamonds and crowns). there are good sellers there, selling cheap but good stuff. previously i had one incident that one of them sent less quantity than the amount that i ordered. they shipped the rest after i told them what were missing (as shown in their invoice). no questions asked. the goods reached me in a week.

yes i think you can use that double-shot abs key cap set; and yes, not all of them fits because your board has non-standard key cap profiles. (e.g. esc key, del/insert key; maybe the right alt and ctrl keys also not sure) if possible get double-shot pbt key cap sets. (and say bye bye to key shines biggrin.gif)

Hey guys,

I am thinking of getting a MKB. Currently have in mind is CM Masterkey Pro L. Any feedbacks on this keyboard? Or any better recommendation? I'm looking for backlit full size and budget around RM500. Thanks guys!
*
for backlit fullsize cherry mx boards, it's either ikbc f108, or cm master key pro. personally i like ikbc more because it comes with double-shot pbt key cap set. if you like detachable cable, then it's cm master key pro.

optical switches has been around for like a year now, but no big boys are picking it up yet.

100mil key strokes are a lot. although the mechanical part might last as long, i'm not sure if the infrared / electronic parts can have the same lifespan.

edit: however new technologies are always better than no innovation at all

for lifespan, it's better for us to think it's at 10 mil for all switches including membrane. Anyway, lifespan is not selling point, as we can change the switch at very cheap price.
Even some china switches claimed to have more than 80 mil life, fail in a month. Their defects per part million are too high.   rclxms.gif
*
10mil key strokes are also a lot already; yeah i always forget that switches are replaceable hehe

80mil strokes sound too good to be true for budget switches; really not sure how they got those numbers.

edit: here is another 'innovation' in gaming boards hehe - asus claymore core. they seem to get everything right: aluminum top plate, floating key design, cherry mx rgb, detachable cable, and detachable number pad that can be attached to either side of the board (well except for the fact that it wobbles easily from review videos)

the only 'problem' is that crazy price tag. i rather get 2x filco with rare switches like mx pink.

Thank guys. Btw any idea how much is the market price for cm masterkeys pro L WHITE backlit?
I went and check out the rgb one. Doesn't like the fancy colors and I seldom type in the dark as well. Not worth the rgb.
Wanna check on WHITE but not available  sad.gif

Btw white and rgb backlit both keyboards are the same right? no major changes right except for the LEDs only?

it's better to check with quovadis123; he gives good advice and recommendations.

Hey guys,

One more ques here. Whats the diff between corsair STRAFE (RED) and corsair k68?
As I know k70 has non standard bottom row. What about STRAFE (RED) and k68? and which is more worth it?
And btw do they have detachable usb like masterkeys?

I am comparing between cm masterkeys pro l white backlit, STRAFE (RED) and k68 atm.
The red backlit of corsair really grabs my attention as the masterkeys pro looks abit dull. Hahahaha.
Just found this https://nasilemaktech.com/2017/01/20/review...-l-white-led/2/
is it true that although they're brown switches but both masterkeys white and RGB got different feeling on the keys?  hmm.gif
*
you can actually check out their differences by comparing tech specs of both at corsair.com. they all have non-standard bottom row. their cables are fixed.

i personally will go for k68. as for the typing feels between the two switches, not really sure.

if it's just for aesthetic purpose then it's ok. third party wrist rests are more comfortable imo

i use coolermaster wrist rest (for tkl). soft-cushioned. i think they have a different size for full-size also.

How's the feeling? Great? Or is it too low? I'm wondering how does it compare with memory foam or leather build wrist rest.. Thanks for helping though
*
personally i'm ok with it. it's a good fit for masterkeys pro s and other tkl to me.

i only use this for now. maybe others have more experience on memory foam, or leather build.

right. to me it's not that comfortable anyway, so i took it off the keyboard.

tbh not really sure how practical this is. At most the mkb i'm use to, all is cherry mx brown. only the space bar MAY use a different switch.

But this limited edition is uses different switches all over the place  hmm.gif
looks interesting if your a collector, but for a main driver i like something practical and consistent  smile.gif (i did mix match keycap types, but that did not affect performance consistency when typing though)
*
wow. so many switches in one board. it might be a good chance for some to try out those heavier switches. (heavier switches make key press feel more sturdy tbh)

from the diagram, maybe it's ok to use it daily because common areas (alphas and mods) use same force on the lighter side, i.e. 45cN

i believe it's cherry mx speed/silver. you can check it out at the link posted above. found a youtube vid about it too, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLNt5NiEh1I

edit: from the vid, you will know how each switch sounds like too

Hey guys, any place in Malaysia to get BOTH Mech Keyboards and Custom Keycaps at once?

I want to get a cheap starter RGB Mech Keyboard like a Redragon and I also want to get Mac keycaps for it. I also want local since I don't want to wait 2 weeks or more just to order online.

Any good places to recommend?

Not really what I'm looking for but thanks.

I'm looking for a retail store where I can order keycaps upfront and then pick up the next day and then on the day of pickup I can just visit the store and then buy a MKB from there too.

Is there any store in Bukit Bintang or Plaza LY that sells both MKBs and Keycaps?
*
er there is no such a shop yet imo. if you wait for it to exist it might take months or years, so the better option for you is to order them elsewhere.

I am pretty sure I won't modified anything on it, which means standard or not really not a matter. smile.gif

nice smile.gif

in case key caps are worn off after a few months of heavy use (like my k70 rgb), you can get double-shot pbt key cap sets from taobao. (i.e. one set of 104/108, one set of the 8-key bottom row; get the double-shot pbt ones; very durable)

for non-standard rows, choices are very limited.

edit: also, keep in mind that the colors between the two sets might not be as uniformed.
