I'm getting my keys sometime within this week or next. This is my first property

There are some things that you have to change to your name after you purchase the property like TNB, Syabas, and etc.

I would appreciate if someone could advise what needs to be changed to my name and what do I need to do.

Please forgive my ignorance as this is new to me and I couldn't find an answer online.

for tnb, syabas i think you can walk in their office and change it. with spa and new deposit.

1) Assessment - get a copy of the assessment from vendor so you know which perbandaran to go to change to your name (yr lawyer should be able to get for you).

2) Indahwater - just go to their website to see how to change the name. Quite easy.

For the assessment, I had a colleague that went to MBPJ to change to her name but she was fined for changing it too late. It is weird because she just got the keys. When should I have changed it before fines are implemented?

Can I change the name for the following before I get the keys? (SnP signed)

1. Property Assessment Tax (Cukai Pintu)
2. Quit Rent (Cukai Tanah)
3. TNB
4. Syabas
5. Maintenance Fees (Condo)

they usually need copy of spa when submitting application for change of name..
so I guess do it once the spa has been signed within a reasonable time..you can call them and ask
