car compass is opposite from the camping compass right? means, if u see north, that means you are going north, your front is north, and your back is south. am i right?

I think he dont know how to look at a compass...
The needle always points to N rite ? if im not mistaken...
So u need to stand and turn the compass until the needel is pointing to N the nonly u know where is E,W,S.....

just to be more accurate ... the needle point that has a RED pointer is pointing NORTH no matter
where you are ... cos it detect magnetic point on earth ....

Btw....the "point/location" that u are standing is at the center of the compass...
And so when u move forward, means u are moving N (assume u know how to see compass) and when u move backward means u moving towards S....

Last but not least, all compass works the same way...no matter be it in car, aeroplane, spaceship, etc etc

Exactly! u must position yourself so that the red needle is pointing to North, then only u can know the other direction.

when ur car drop in he middle of the see, u can know where to swim to nearest island

oh i know what he mean. The car compass is located on the dashboard. So when u read the compass, you are reading from the back of the compass. he's question is, the reading that facing you is refer to the front of the car or the back of the car?

Hmm.. if the compass is facing side (not top), and the needle points UP which is to the NORTH, then that shows you're heading NORTH if u go toward front.

To TS, in the morning, park your car so that the red mark point to the N. Check whr's the the sun. If it's on ur right, then the north is at the front of the car. If the sun is on ur left, then it's the other way round.

you guys obviously dont have a car compass !!!
that is the problem i have, after i bought a car compass !!!
its completely different from our normal jungle camping compass !!
in jungle u can position yourself facing anywhere.

u see jungle compass from top view, means u see every direction, u must face north, so u know where u are. thats simple.

HOWEVER !! CAR COMPASS is different !! u only get to see the side view of the compass. not top view !!

it says "N", means you are facing "N", ur car back is facing "South". you are going North direction. am i right ??

correction...i dun think spaceship (in space) compass will work right? compass needs the north/south pole from earth in order to work

in you are within the magnetic pull of the north pole, then will still work....but why want to use compass in space ship??? got other more high tech tracking system ma.....
