I think he dont know how to look at a compass...
The needle always points to N rite ? if im not mistaken...
So u need to stand and turn the compass until the needel is pointing to N the nonly u know where is E,W,S.....

just to be more accurate ... the needle point that has a RED pointer is pointing NORTH no matter
where you are ... cos it detect magnetic point on earth ....
