Because of the recent major nerf for Maybank Grab card, was looking for a replacement card.
Was surprise to find out there is 8% online rebate for Ikhwan Amex card.
Just submitted my application earlier today, hope everything goes smoothly and application approved

Unfortunately, Great eastern does not accept Amex.
Would have done it a long time ago by using my m2u amex Maybank 2 Amex if able to do so

I pay maxis fibre bill via app using m2u amex Maybank 2 Amex and always get cashback, don't see why there would be a problem when using ikhwan ~

Sorry, need to clarify my statement.

I pay my maxis fibre internet via Maxis app directly (as they accept amex) and not through maybank website, using my Maybank 2 Amex card and i also received OTP when making payment. All this while getting Cashback

I believe Ikhwan should be eligible also if i perform the same step since its online and i received OTP, and I'm using maxis app to pay and not maybank website.

but it highly likely ikhwan will get rebate also lah, as all the steps are online related.

If really din get rebate for it, then will need to call cs to clarify and dispute as it shouldnt be the case.

Applied M2U rejected. Then later applied manually via email and specifically ask for split credit limit also received rejected SMS..

Will it impact the application status if everyday I called CS to expedite the process ?
Anyway to re-appeal the application? Can i resubmit another application?

I don't have any debt or anything..

I called and found out that they didn't event bother to review my 2nd application to split my credit limit, which I specifically indicated in my email.
Rejection was due to it being duplicated from the initial M2U application as not more than 3 months.

Going to escalate again via email to request for the same.. Will wait and see the outcome.

So timeline :
5/3 - applied via m2u - got rejected after 2 days (no reason disclosed)
7/3 - reapplied via email and specifically requested to split credit limit
10/3 - application was rejected, found out the reason was because it was duplicated from the first application via m2u on 5/3. They didnt even bother to review my request to split the credit limit. Reapplied via email and ask to split limit again on the same day. Whilst also calling CS to ask them to make sure my request to split limit is taken into account.

Call almost everyday and CS mention still in process, while also checking ccris for status update.

17/3 - 1 week pass, notice ccris pending status gone. Called CS and they claim that it was actually still processing and not rejected. (I assume maybe they will remove from ccris first to reduce limit and reprocess)

20/3 - Called CS again and the officer mention that my 3rd application was actually rejected and there was no pending request to split the credit limit. They mention it was rejected also because it was duplicated from the first application via m2u. Requested to escalate the case to manager as it seems my specific request to split the credit limit is not even being taken into account. Spoke to the manager and he will assist to indicate my specific request to the processing department.

23/3 - received an email from maybank offering me the ikhwan islamic amex card but need to split the credit limit. Signed and emailed back on the agreement.

As of today, no update from ccris yet, but highly likely i should get my card approve by next week. Will update again once i get my card.

Almost a month pass, but willing to go through this as a replacement for the Grab Card.

Oh my, this is good trick. I never thought of purchasing from lazada before as i'm not frequent user there.

So to clarify, i can purchase reload PIN using Amex at Lazada > top up into TNG e wallet > then use the Visa card for other transaction ?
Effectively can get 8% cashback even for those excluded transaction like insurance since can pay using Visa Card

ya i think it should be. I didnt apply TnG visa card yet, but i think similar concept with BigPay

28/3 - received SMS card is approved
30/3 - received the physical card

1 month process but happy to get the card

ngam ngam received my ikhwan card before end of the month and manage to spend some before the 31st

Yup, definitely received the cashback, i received mine

Yes eligible for CB. Make sure direct use, and not top up wallet.

Condition for CB :
Ikhwan, have to be online (anyday)
M2 Amex, card present or online (Weekend only)

Both Ikhwan Amex and M2 Amex will get CB for Grab direct use if the condition met.

Personally will max cb for Ikhwan Amex first before using M2 Amex as Ikhwan higher CB rebate of 8%

Per month to hit 50 cap just need spend 625, not really hard i think.
Monthly I mainly use it to pay my telco bill (Umobile, maxis fibre), and streaming subscription (netflix, Disney+). Spending almost half gone
The rest maybe watch movie (TGV, GSC via app) , Grab or occasional online shopping purchase (Shopee, Lazada)

Not sure about Zus, but there is Amex Thread showing places you can use Amex, you can refer there.

Don't think there is option to pay Grab paylater using credit card, they will need to deduct from your Grab Wallet.
So need to top up Grab wallet first, which means no Cash back

Never really try before, usually pay in full before they auto deduct.
Not sure if they will auto charge from the card to top up wallet and then pay the GrabPaylater
Or they directly charge the card and pay the GrabPaylater

But also, cant be sure if this will be considered "online" as they could categorize as "recurring" charge, similar to how subscription works.

Only way is to test it out haha. Update us on the result if you do so

I charged it manually and delete the card.

Not much info to go about, but by right, your outstanding balance should already include the payment you made.

Using Duitnow will deduct directly from your Grab Wallet

And if you mean Grab online payment, as selecting Grab as the payment method when purchasing online.
As far as i recall, it will also be deducted from your Grab Wallet.

Toping up the Grab Wallet using this card wont be eligible for cashback.

The Online Cashback is only granted if you use Grab services and you choose this card as the payment method.

Why not split the credit limit? That's what I did last time. Can search my post from earlier this year.
