Anyone received the latest Mastercard Ikhwan card with Mastercard Contactless build in?



For those using the old card without Contactless do we have to request it from Maybank ourselves?

I think fruite has replaced hers with Contactless.

Nice. How do we get this replaced? Do we have to call Maybank CS? Or visit Maybank branch?

Btw have you tried asking MBB to offset SST for free? Or it's not common for them to do so?

I don’t think it’s common for them to do so. Some reported that they are able to redeem their great points to offset the sst, not sure if it is applicable to this card

Good for you... I do not have sufficient TP to offset the SST. Cancelled card. Quite fast reflected in M2U.

Too bad the TP is insufficient. I use this card for petrol and groceries only.
Last 3 years, annual cash back is around RM130. Not my top cashback cards. Now in the midst of consolidating cards due to SST.
I use TP for MBB 2Cards though.

Oh... did not cross my mind that can use TP from 2Cards coz earlier request to use for FCB was not allowed.

Got my card last week. But cant use contactless payment. Tried twice at different Aeons but got error. Is there any activation need to be done for contactless payment?

Experts say it's almost impossible nowadays to get the Islamic cards if you hold any conventional cards. You can try search this thread or the 2 cards thread.

Use your amex or convert your cards to Islamic cards.

I spent a good amount of time trying to look for that post in this and the 2 cards thread but couldn't.

The closest is Post #2325. I remember I told someone to do this, then Clarence said something like nowadays Maybank don't prefer people to hold both conventional and Islamic cards at the same time. Keyword is nowadays/recent years, so in the past it would've been possible.

Just got my ikhwan mastercard today. So there shouldn't be any issue

Some said that MBB new direction is not to have cardholders from conventional banking to have additional cards from Islamic banking.

Based on the tips in post #2, it mentions that the credit limit split would help.

For my monthly salary, my CL is quite high. So maybe they think that I have enough CL, extending another card to me, may not be possible.

Other than the tips, do you have any advice? I applied at the Card Center in the Gardens. Did my Maybank 2 Gold there too, no issues during that application. Approved in 2 hours. That is my first and only CC, at the moment. Is it because I applied and received it in December, hence a cooling off period applies?

may i know what this means for current holder? can still use it until expiry and no longer able to renew? or its just that no new application. my new card is valid from march lol..
