6600XT really is a stupid card.

It's a PS5 GPU (mostly) that costs more than PS5 and is just as equally unavailable, yet performs worse than the console.
*
Well even if AMD prices the card competitively, it doesn't really matter anyway because it'll end up in the retail market at vastly inflated prices sweat.gif
...and people will buy it anyway because well the GPU market is completely upended by the chip shortage and the mining boom sweat.gif

The counterintuitive thing is that the card's pricing and availability is actually decent compared to the alternatives because of low demand caused by the negative reception of the card laugh.gif

IMHO this GPU generation starts to feel like a lost generation in the GPU history because of the prolonged availability issues of the card - we could have seen some much needed competition in the GPU market, especially the high end of the spectrum (which AMD sorely needs, after they left the high end market several years ago), now it's became a battle of which company can produce enough cards to cope with the demand, no matter how bad the pricing is sweat.gif

I think those who are interested in PC gaming should come back in 2022 (optimistically), or realistically, 2023 sweat.gif

600 USD for 9070 XT? OK thumbup.gif
550 USD for the vanilla model? sweat.gif

It feels like AMD wants to upsell us the more expensive model... although RIP 5070 Ti if AMD AIBs can supply enough of them sweat.gif

Will there be 9090 down the road? 9080 replacing 7900 XTX?
*
Unlikely, but we may see something in the line of the 9060 (XT) in the near future icon_idea.gif

dam 600usd is pretty good price, FSR4 is as good as DLSS3 too. looks solid.
*
More crucially they'll probably be easier to buy over the near vaporware grade 50 series brows.gif
Nice, looks like a 9070 XT will be my next upgrade, now all I need is some AIB card reviews brows.gif

USD599 for 9070XT and USD549 for 9070. Woot
*
The vanilla 9070 needs to be about 50 USD cheaper, but the 9070XT pricing is definitely very good considering inventory levels icon_idea.gif

problem is malaysian vendor, it's good if malaysian radeons can follow msrp or the card's own msrp...

my 3090 is more than 4 yo now, hope it can last for 2 more years for next gen else have to get 9070xt or 5070ti
*
Guess you never seen RTX50 'pricing' right now, most cards are sold at vastly inflated prices, worse still most retailers are bundling them with parts that you do not need or only available as part of a complete system tongue.gif
If all else fails I can always try to import one from Taobao whistling.gif

If anything, the consumers deserve this current state of market. Many are not putting the wallet where their mouth are
AMD already stated before they've given up on the high-end and flagship GPU space. They are gonna compete at the mid range only
*
Perfectly fine, especially when you consider the completely out of shape GPU market right now icon_idea.gif

Indeed. But locally I can see why; when AMD Msia smoking stronk weed and pricing Radeons very close to its Geforce tiers when globally its priced one tier below, like who would buy into AMD then?
*
?? The 7800XT is very well priced here though (especially with the MH Wilds combo), and a few years back the 5700XT is actually priced about RM300-RM500 below the 2070 Super (or even the 2060 Super) sweat.gif
Same goes to the RX6000 series (remember the 6600 and the 6700 XT?)

Hopefully those prices were because it was sold before officially on sale time. Converted to USD, the RM4000 XT is 900usd. 50% more than the US msrp of 600.

FOMO pricing by retailers probably laugh.gif

Much better, while RT performance still leaves much to be desired compared to the 5070 Ti, the fact that there is decent availability (at least outside MY) should hopefully pressure Nvidia into improving their inventory levels icon_idea.gif

I may consider going for a 5070 Ti as I owned a couple of Radeon GPUs if I can get one at a more sensible pricing (hopefully they can sort out the missing ROPs and the software problems) laugh.gif

A little heads up, possible price hikes after the limited MSRP supply exhausts:

It depends on which part of the EU though, some parts of the EU are not as rich as what most people think here icon_idea.gif

Radeons globally are value for money giving about same raster perf as Geforce 1 tier segment above for its price but come here distros & sellers price them relative to perf so its why you see Radeons with huge markups until near above tier Geforce prices. At these levels who would wanna buy Radeon with its poorer RT, DLSS, & software suite?
This is why I said AMD Msia smoking weed for not controlling the prices here while their happy with 10% marketshare.
*
I really doubt AMD is responsible for the pricing, as regions like Taiwan/Singapore share somewhat similar price tags with us (yes I know their purchasing power is different) icon_idea.gif

Meanwhile in Taiwan... retailers are forcing bundles everywhere:

Why malaysian pricing is with rm600 to rm800 markup? Distributor or retailers scalping?

Capitalizing on FOMO sweat.gif

Seriously this has been the case since the RTX 30 series/RX6000 launch, so don't act surprised icon_idea.gif

Just don't buy it, and wait for supply normalizes, GPUs are not food and water icon_idea.gif

Nice, how much did you pay for your 9070XT? I was quoted RM3499 for a bundle free Sapphire 9070XT Pulse at my local shop hmm.gif

Same price. Seller doesn't want to give better price.

Well certainly cheaper than a 5070 Ti (the exact shop quotes me RM5299 for a MSI one), and no need to deal with 12VHPWR is an added bonus icon_idea.gif
