QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Oct 30 2018, 09:58 PM) i take that with a pinch of salt but since it's on 12nm that seems legit. the "new 1060" is really confusing, GP104 but with the same amount of cuda cores? looks like nvidia wanna clear the gp104 at a loss ? think they dont have a choice thats why they holding back the rtx 2060 maybe ?

QUOTE(Najmods @ Dec 10 2018, 02:00 PM) What I mean by finicky frequency and voltage table is MSI Afterburner allows to control the voltage as per frequency curve on Pascal cards but it seems to have a mind of its own, everytime I undervolt too much it refuses to reach that frequency and stuck on lower frequency. A lot of new cards too seems to do this, Vega included. If I undervolt, example 900mV on Vega the frequency will hover around 1350MHz on complex games and 14xxMHz on simpler games disregard whatever I set. Its ok-ish since the card clever enough to know its own limit and keeps stable but very hard to do clock-to-clock comparison. I love tweaking, almost everything I have is non-stock and modded in some way or another whether in software or hardware so Im a big exception from regular people. I traded 980Ti with Vega56 for RM300 so win-win for me vega likes water no need to undervolt just let it loose 1.6ghz and above is no issues

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Dec 14 2018, 12:49 PM) i can't believe people are defending a 28nm housefire overcocked 980ti. in dec 2018. at least with vega you have the option to undervolt and save 30% power. it has ridiculously voltage overhead. as for rm500 980ti, sounds about right. 1070 is already rm950. if you price it rm700, might as well go 1070, which you can oc yourself get a 16nm chip and soon to be gimped drivers. 980ti is just junk and not worth buying today. huehuehue 980ti is still a capable card wei

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Jan 10 2019, 11:29 AM) They could've make it 8GB and lower the price imo. i totally agree, amd just dont have anything to compete with nvidia at the moment. Nvidia is also betting on RTX tech. 16gb HBM is insane totally not needed.

Big ass Radeon VII DIE shot render. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I would love to get my hands on a cheap rx vega 64 nitro+ unit if the 2nd hand price is right since now radeon 7 is out people will wanna flock to the latest and greatest

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 12 2019, 01:51 PM) For Rm3299 that is a pretty good price. My friend bought 2070 Strix for Rm3500.   Can't cure a true fanboy.  i think i will wait for non reference model, 2070 for rm 2.5k also i feel wasted for 3.5k is insanely wasted This post has been edited by S4PH: Feb 12 2019, 03:00 PM

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 12 2019, 03:37 PM) I have this feeling that aftermarket will be much more expensive and consume moar powah. Yeah man, >RM3k for 2070 is a waste of money imo, considering you can get 2060 for under RM2k. Extra 2GB + 15% of performance does not worth >RM1k if it wants moar powahhh we give it hahahaha

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 15 2019, 02:23 PM) I don't know if we will see an aftermarket of this card though. Btw you not interested in Vega 56? Saw a few for RM1k-RM1.3k in used market, still under factory warranty. I'm too broke too even afford an RM1k card right now. Probably will retire from PCMR. WHAT A MACHINEEEEEEE......... i also broke bought a 1080ti now wanna sell it and get radeon 7 because hand itchy. Was thinking about retiring PCMR also terus PS5

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 15 2019, 03:56 PM) Damn, i got good offer on 1080 Ti too and i thought that could be my last GPU as PCMR but... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Meanwhile Radeon VII is pretty interesting, i wanna see the limit of this silicon. So far early adopter get pretty interesting overclock and undervolt results. Mesa open source Radeon Linux driver RadeonSI received a patch to enable Primitive Culling with Async Compute and the result is huge performance boost for geometry heavy worloads. No result for games yet though, many games already have primitive culling baked in but not as efficient. Yes radeon 7 is very interesting, its a compute monster

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Feb 25 2019, 08:50 AM) Welp. If only you had remote desktop on. Oh you have a spare card. Go set it up. If you don't have another windows device, maybe teamviewer and access from phone. why would you need to remote desktop where u can do the flashing directly since TS has a spare rx570 hes worried he will flash the current rx570. best is to use a seperate pc with a IGPU then flash it. Small matter

QUOTE(Songchien @ Feb 25 2019, 01:33 PM) Yeah. Using ITX board so only have 1 pcie slot. My thought was to buy the cheapest AM4 APU, that is athlon 200ge then try flash my rx580 again. Honestly I'm not sure why the first flash and second bios flash failed. I got the original bios from tech power up. I bought a mining RX580 few months back and flashed the bios so far was ok no issues i used these bios for my red dragon rx 580 Most probably your reflash process was not complete thats why corrupted, u will need to retry again maybe use another system This post has been edited by S4PH: Feb 25 2019, 10:06 PM

QUOTE(shirohamada @ Feb 26 2019, 10:01 AM) Because itx only comes with 1 pcie slot and he needs to buy an athlon 200ge just to reflash. Lol When i sold my gpu, i used remote desktop from my laptop to do stuff. No igpu how is it you get teamviewer to run initially on the desktop that does not have display ? Im curious coz i never tought of such method.
