ok, some will call me stupid and wasting money for getting a reference 5700 XT
but IMO, after 2 nights of testing it with the latest drivers, I'm not complaining.
I was building my first proper gaming rig after a few decades, so my brain was pretty outdated in terms of current technology advancements.
But after a few reads, decided to go for the red camp, all these while I was the blue camp, no harm to try, right?
Anyway, was locking on a 2nd hand RX570 as my GPU, as I won't be playing the latest games anyway, mostly are just oldies, but then the seller FFK me big time, and bcos of that my rig built was delayed for weeks, and I was really pissed about it, and my advice to you, don't go browse for expensive stuffs when you're pissed and wasn't thinking rationally, then there I bought myself a 5700 XT reference card.
A week after, it arrives, and buyer remorse started to kick in after reading a lot of bad reviews about the reference card, it's hot & noisy & unstable, as most claimed.
But after trying it in my rig?
It's buttery smooth, no hang, no crash, no weird artifacts, no weird color & so... rock solid stable.
Trying a few games, playing Apex Legend in fullHD max, 2k & 4K, all no issues at all
Only noticed the hotspot temp was at max of 99C when playing at 4K, and the fan was a bit louder, but still fall within acceptable range, it's still a lot quieter than my PS4Pro. Playing it in 1080 is whisper quiet.
gonna try a few more games later, Metro Exodus and Destiny 2 are next
u should watch linus 5700xt review basically the reference model will run quiet till oblivion
