Already that price for 2 weeks. Also 6750xt = 6700xt = bad

Better just get rx6800
*
Ugh.. not a fan of that fan and heatsink. Doubt it can keep it cool under our climate without sounding like a jet engine.

It's good at that price unless you can get 6700 XT for 1.6k or 6800 at RM2.1k

QUOTE(Rei7 @ Nov 4 2022, 05:19 AM)
Big win for AMD in terms of value and price per dollar performance i'm sure. Finally some competition this time around. Can't beat RT and DLSS yet, but they are close.

Even so I think everyone should get an AMD card this gen. Upgrading is low cost compared to upgrading to an Nvidia gpu haha. No need new casing, no need new atx 3.0 psu, great pricing.

I cannot wait for next generation already, consumers will win smile.gif
*
Meh, Nvidia will counter back imo. They have 4080 12GB 4070 unlaunched GPU under their sleeve.

I was expecting multiple graphic chip tbh.

I think 3070 with gddr6 will run cool. No?
*
Cool? Maybe yes. Silent? Probably not. Many cheap dual fan card runs at 35dB which is louder than my current 980 Ti. hmm.gif
Also the 8GB concerns me because the card is really capable for more.

Yes that's why better buy 6800
*
Extra RM500-600 for 10% more performance and 4GB VRAM? Nah.. 6700XT/6750XT@1.7k/1.8k is the best middle ground for me, 12GB is plenty for coming years. 10GB is the minimum imo.

If can go with nitro+ series, the cooler is beefy, rooms temperature 30c , GPU temp 36c 783 RPM at idle, hard to reach over 75c during gaming session, if fps limited 70-80 barely reach 60c under air conditioner 24c

If you go with 6750 need 2x 8pin , even official also fail to represent still saying 1x8pin 1x6 pin...
*
Yes. I was actually aiming for that. Last week the price was 1.8k now up to 1.9k.

Nope. 6700/6750xt is just bad idea. 6800 is huge performance jump. But hopefully drop to rm2k
*
laugh.gif laugh.gif Nah, not huge for me. I play on 1080p ultrawide and on older processor so basically less than 10%

FSR3 and AV1 kinda concern me, maybe I'l try to find 6600XT for under RM1k instead as placeholder.

If price is sweet, my budget is 3.3k. Might consider nvidia too
amd simply don't add new features to old gpu anymore
*
Just buy a cheap-ish midrange and upgrade every 2 gen. So you don't miss out on new features.

Did anyone able to estimate the price of 7900xtx and 7900xt once it arrived? I expect it will increase more than MSRP just like the price of 4080 and 4090.

I plan to get it on the first day it launched.
*
Of course it will go above MSRP. Probably around 5k-5.5k for 7900XTX

Lol GG to 4080 unless ngreedia lowers the price.

7900XTX not only faster, but much cheaper.

Nah, most will still buy the 4080 i'm sure of that. 🥴

From TPU review both card hit the max power limit and overclocking didn't do anything.
Maybe 3rd party card with higher power will bring performance even higher.

Also leaked report about efficiency issue is true, both card use much higher power when on multi-monitor configuration.

QUOTE(targon @ Dec 13 2022, 01:08 PM)
That's not attractive pricing enough. Those are reference models. Based on the XTX OVERALL performance , that's not very convincing compared to 4080 and all of its feature set. Btw can be had closer to 6k now. Morale of the story, do not believe in AMD promotional hype.
*
Lmao. Less than 20% RT compare to 4080 for RM 1K less. Good enough. Many play games w/o RT anyway.
Linux out of the box performance is great too.

It's "good" in relative to 4080 only. Both are overpriced as it is
*
Overprice compare to what? Current market price of previous gen?

QUOTE(Duckies @ Dec 13 2022, 02:24 PM)
But the power consumption and thermal is slightly worst than 4080..not sure if long run will cost more than the 200 USD hmm.gif

They also have coil whine issue according to Gamer Nexus. Not sure if third party supplier can remedy these issues hmm.gif
*
Of course it will. Depend on your usage and upgrade cycle. hmm.gif

Amd knew they cannot compete in performance that's why they came up with the much lower msrp as nvidia released their 4000 series way earlier.

Sadly for most of us, 7900XTX is not competitive enough to trigger nvidia to drop prices sad.gif
*
Lol. So you can buy Nvidia instead right?

I noticed in TPU reviews, both XTX and XT able boost to 2.9Ghz, maybe with moar powa limit and better cooler it could stay on higher boost clock.

I guess this is what they meant by architected for 3Ghz.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Dec 14 2022, 04:31 PM)
But then 7900 XTX has higher power consumption..about 100W for gaming. Not sure how much that translates to our electric bill in Malaysia. If you are concern on the electric bill on a long term..maybe that makes a difference?  hmm.gif
*
60w difference.

Quick maff time.
Let say you play game 40h/week at max load. That's 8kWh difference per month.
Average of 3 block = 35cents per 1kWh
That's less than RM3 difference per month. hmm.gif

To break $200 you need to continue doing that for 20+ years?

With that said, AMD need to fix the idle and multi-monitor power consumption a.s.a.p
