Hello everyone. I want to retake STPM as a private candidate. Can I know if I can still use my old coursework marks or do I have to sit for all the Paper 4? Also, will I be sitting term by term just like my juniors or is it different for private candidates. Please help me. It would mean a lot to me. Thank you 😃

STPM I believe you have to start again. How bad is your STPM? just enter college already and don't waste your time.

Just start college don't bother trying for stpm

Stpm can sambung to private college degree 2nd year?
But I heard those blood sucker college change it to 1st year now.

my parents also could not afford to sent me, so i worked first and borrowed loans from government.

i went to tar college, total only rm4k for 2 years, each semester you need pay under 1k or something, i can't remember already too long ago.

while i study i also work part time in cyber cafe and pubs.

go study foundation lo rm 8-15k shja depends on school....got ptptn what.

no...98% sure ask you start from first year....and only waive some subject shja.
everything your learn is most irrelevant to the subject course ,that why they need to teach you basic again from year 1.
if they give u direct to year two,sure you will kelam kabut because you don't have the foundation in the course you are taking.

don't go back try again,past is the past(what happens if you fail again,try again ka). you should me moving on, not backwards.
go study diploma la or foundation....got ptptn what.
got public university...cheap cheap shja from rm7-20k i think(depends on course).UTAR,TAR,AIMST...etc etc

need money ma go work la(part time),don't expect everything from your parents.


truth is i feeling you are wasting your time looking back to retry again. usually stpm is one one shot (either you study hard or you fail) than life move on and you find your opportunity somewhere else.

I know of people personally who retook their STPM as a private candidate many years and did much better and are doing very well today.

The journey of life is long and windy. But it's important to focus on the future

Consider all your options and discuss with your parents to see how it can be managed especially the financial part.

Important to realise why you did not do well in the first place and not to repeat the same mistakes.

How bad is your STPM result? If it's at least 3.0 then just go for Uni. If you can afford it, then college. Don't waste your time retaking STPM again.

Some of the options I think possible.

1. Go work few years then continue back on study
2. Get a scholarship and hopefully it's a full scholarship
3. PTPTN

Sitting for STPM is one of the bigger regrets I had in life. Mind u I scored 4As but not 4 flat CGPA.

Now you say u wanna retake... Lol.

spot on. i also regret sitting for stpm. 2 years wasted.

Go takw technical certificate. If no money just go to government 1. Alot.

I just searched on internet for you, but failed to find answer. I think you will have to write new course paper. Just think logically, if lots of time passed since course work was written, besides you will retake STPM, you need to have new grade for course work. According to your logic people whose course works have 6 years will be able to use old grades? Even requirements to the coursework is changed every year.
