Hi note Fe owners. I'm considering getting this phone via Lazada etc.

Is there any problem faced? What do you think about the longevity of the device for 2 years at least? It'll be my most expensive phone in my life.

Wow... Everyone like to ask about longevity of phone...it very subjective and depends on that person very much. Any phone....any brand...same.... Shorter longevity if you are gadgets or tech lovers who always want to try or own latest technologies. Shorter longevity if you are game lover who always play high graphics demand game. Shorter longevity if you are camera lover who loves to shoot high quality photos always.

Any flagship phone at least can last for two years. If you are none of the categories above, you can use the phone until it dead itself.

I am live example. I still using note 5 and until now it still smooth like hell and everything perfect.

Totally get your reply bro. I’m wondering aloud whether by 2020 this processor over 4 year old can still handle day to day tasks or not...I’m a lite user, just focus on photography (that’s my reason for getting a ‘flagship’ phone).

In fact the main reason I’m thinking of this phone is note 5, seeing as many people are still using it. tongue.gif

I bought mine at brick and mortar shop, RM2000. (Edit- I'm in Penang). Best price I saw online was RM1808 + RM38 shipping at 11 street.

Mine is still on order so havent get yet.

Why but from shop? What color?
*
Because.....I hate the feeling of waiting while my money is stuck somewhere, and then potentially getting a lemon from the mailman. I also hate dealing with courier when it comes to RM2k material being floating somewhere, tracking here and there and no one at home when they finally choose to deliver.

To me RM150 extra is worth it to guarantee a fresh cherry.

Black.

bought mine from 11street  biggrin.gif worried about it too at first but since from reputable seller and no problem with delivery with other products that are slightly cheaper before so I go ahead and click buy  laugh.gif

the shop one got extra warranty?
*
I also bought my Nexus 5X from 11street without problems a few years back. Personally recently too busy to do tracking etc lol.

Shop did not give extra warranty. I'm hoping they can register my warranty much later if I can talk them into it.

I just got my note today and setting up. If the display is Off, no AOD, fingerprint scanner must be pressed down to activate and unlock the phone?

Is there a floating dock so that we can go to home without pressing the button, especially when using the Spen?

AOD need to be activate if your setting if off and yes you need to press the button if the screen is off to use fingerprint. old device ma... its note 7 anyway.

floating dock can be activate in assistant menu. just search it in settings.

Thanks,

Found it. I've not been used to the physical home button....my last samsung was Galaxy S.

Darn, super AMOLED has improved so much. I look at IP7 LCD and I feel like there is a ND filter on it.

Anyone experiencing frequent data disconnection? I have this problem, usually when on the USB / wifi tethering.

Network: Digi (LTE)
*
How frequent? I'm sure this depends on the quality of the network coverage, recently I've been tethering via wifi a lot and got reasonable performance. I watched a whole match of Man Utd v Arsenal without issue.

I feel that the standby drain has reduced a lot for me. SOT maybe still the same (still first battery cycle).

done it, still same. crash on portrait. mind sharing the setting you use? maybe wrong setting. im using version 8.2.
*
sorry, i tried a few times and it was buggy, would hang and require restart, sometimes it works.

I didnt really set too many things, just install and run. My advise to wait for developer to get his S7 Oreo, then update the app....

(S7 not get Oreo yet I think).

My updated to Oreo, but no issue with camera..Pro mode also ok
*
I think mine was memory leak. How i make it crash was to mess around with exposure slider left n right, jump to is manual n auto, shutter speed high and low.....the combination of changes rapidly cause it to hang.

So I’ve been using Oreo since release and here’s my battery usage:

Screen off 2% drain per hour. Slightly better at midnight but day time with WhatsApp ding dong notifications it’s usually at least 2-2.2 % per hour.

Screen on is 13.9% per hour.

My 16 hour usage from full is easy to calculate with 3 hr SOT draining 46% and 26% idle. I end the day with less than 30% charge.

With nougat it be around 10%less.

With similar usage on my old phone I’m much closer to 45% mark. This phone does not survive 2 days for me.
