my first review of PIE in One UI. Battery life seems normal. Fingerprint scanner is much more steady and accurate, I'd say its close to chinese phones from 1 year ago (lol).

Camera app looks more slick.

Yes, should be apps background like wechart/WhatsApp running all the time

For my case google play services was updating a lot in the background...after a while things calmed down

any good tempered glass to recommend

just to device maintenance again.. do it few time a days and battery still run out fast and heat..

saw got one time it shown it closed 8 app which running at the back...

Updated to Pie yesterday and still testing the mobile data battery drain issue, in Oreo have to keep disable mobile data to save battery..

Besides, may I know is anyone using Digi and has VoLTE? Because when I bought the phone last year it has LTE and VoLTE, calling is very fast too. But since updated to Oreo till Pie my FE do not have VoLTE and LTE logo on the status bar, just 4g+ only. Is it normal for FE?

Try take out SIM card n restart phone
Make sure backup wechat/WhatsApp before SIM Card out

My celcom strength fluctuates badly at home now , dunno related to upgrade not

did anyone notice that the pie update mentioned "it streamline things" but actually really just remove many features some even I detest, some small examples like

- alarm now always ring ascending volume only no where to toggle it off.
- volume toggle when volume button is press while on any app now only shows you the level only, you cannot direct adjust the level instead have to keep pressing the physical buttons
- device maintenance became lame device care with less features on app controlling.
- you are now unable to gesture swipe for instant pop-up window instead have to go to recent app and click it. (unless i am missing something)
- game launcher now do not have the floating button instead you have to click it on the notification tray.


on plus side

- battery usage is now better optimized (after all that auto reinstalling of sammy apps)
- yes one-handed mode is way easier now (I don't really care for this)
- sammy's own night mode



long story short this update gets an F for me and the only really plus side for me is the night mode (though the dark theme mode is better)

I actually only follow the setting provided from youtube.
You might need to search from youtube the setting tips provided, but it more to personal preference so it depend what apps have installed and use.
I used more on instagram/FB/Wechat/Whatsapps, other software will be lightroom, camscanner, wise, grab, care@unifi and starbucks NO other additional apps installed. a lot of video and photos in my micro sd card... no other settings.
