Anyone here applied the new Journey card? The mastercard one.

Curious what's exciting for you to want to apply? I want to terminate mine already since they took away the RM 80 free airport taxi from since the launch of this new card.

currently using the priority visa infinite. the only good thing is the 360* points don't expire. i think this card still have that rm80 limo taxi thingy.

reason of looking at this newer journey card is for the grab rm60 thingy.

open to debates

Yes the Priority VI still has the RM 80 taxi rebate. Just that I don't have 250k lying around laugh.gif

For me 2 reason why I don't think the Journey suits me
1) hitting 2.5k specifically within travel category is not something that I would do with this card
2) cashback RM 60 is only for 1st grab transaction of the month, no issue if you only use it purely for airport usage but if you accidently use it on something else like for RM 10, there goes the rebate

I guess for airport, will stick with Citi PM (or UOB equivalent) for now. Just that I if I land in KLIA 2, I can't use it since the redemption counter is inside.

1. I can hit the 2.5k but whether it’s worth it or not, idk lol
2. Oh I didn’t know about the “1st grab tx of the month”. Fair fair

As i’m going to travel more frequently, hence looking at a travel theme card.

Since you’ve your SC priority VI, why don’t look at CIMB TWE? Way better miles conversion if you want a travel theme card. I assume you’re eligible since you have priority banking with SC haha

However the bonus points promo is till end of the year.

SC is the worst bank, way worse than PBB.

I decided not to beg/threaten to cancel every year to waive my AF. Enough already.

So I cancelled my card once AF is charged, got a retainer call a week before due date. I told them no, not interested to keep anymore. My card was gone from online banking. 2 weeks past my due date, I got an automated call from SC that I have an outstanding (legit call).

So I called back and whack them kaw, they informed the card was closed like few days after my due date hence interest was charged. Got them to waive luckily no 1 in my CCRIS.

Planning to cancel also but just to confirm. When AF is charged (my AF should be charged on my next month's statement), if we cancel the card without even using the card after AF is charged, by right we don't need to pay the AF right? When you cancel the card when AF is charged, I assumed you've cleared all outstanding (minus the AF)?

Yes, as long there's no transaction after the AF. Mine is a drawer card anyway so there's no transaction even before the AF is charged.

Journey Card Annual fee charged this year and unable to waive in app ,  proceed to call the CS and was told not eligible except taking up BT or COC offer , straight request for cancellation. Close file

The irony they spend so much acquiring new customers but then reluctant to give waiver to retain existing cardholders.

They no longer acquire new customers I think. No interest in their CC business anymore.

Just realised this after checking Ringgitplus and Comparehero. No promotion whatsoever.

Last year they were still giving guaranteed 1k or so sign-up bonus. Looking at their consumer business presence, they might probably exit Malaysia soon.
