QUOTE(sjz @ Jan 21 2025, 10:52 AM) seemed like they deliberately not to give AF waiver this round. in line with their increase of min annual salary to b eligible for their credit card to b 96k. gonna prepare for this year to terminate the card before AF kicks in.

i also few months this interest charge, CB this standard chartered very fishy. cos i normally dont really go thru my statement as my spending is consistent every month. but last month i check how come got interest then i ask them check. later will check again. cos got proof from statement as long as pay on due date not after then is okay by right

QUOTE(nuttyking91 @ Jan 26 2025, 03:32 PM) I made payment on my due date but it's posted on the following day. I got charged interest for this. Other banks I do not have this issue. Probably it's time to clear all and terminate this card. same also for both nov and december. I called them they say will check but still havent refund. Clearly i have paid the card on the due date or earlier. Will call and fuk gao them again. If not will submit complaint to BNM

QUOTE(ruben7389 @ Jul 19 2025, 06:15 AM) Has anyone tried their "Cash on call" program where can get cash and convert to loan 1 to 5 years ? Call center person said no hidden charges and if u pay off earlier, they will calculate back all the interest saved and offset that from when we close it out Anyone who has used this maybe can share if any issues ? Thanks The interest is calculated using a very cb method that u pay earlier u actually need pay more principal. Rule of apa i forget. Basically, what u paid in first 1 year is mostly interest.

QUOTE(adele123 @ Jul 20 2025, 09:52 PM) It's called rule of 78. Can Google it. Don't have to know the maths but basically the interest is not prorated based on the time but you pay a bigger portion of it in the earlier years. And yes it is a lousy method I agree. ya so u paid early u actually paid maybe 20-30% of the interest. But yeah u pay ur principal earlier than u don need pay leftover interest. But then u oledi paid up so many interest lol. They say 5% pa but is calculated the whole duration already. Effective interest is the one u looking at if u pay early. But rule 78 if u wan pay early, the so called breakeven is like half of the duration.

I send secure mail asking if they can provide annual fee waiver but they say not sure, only when annual fee charged then can request.
But should be no problem if the annual fee charge on that particular month before the statement date, i cancel and they will waive the annual fee right? Provided i paid the statement balance.
They say will see my card usage profile. I had been using the card for like 10k per month leh. Suppose they shud give me annual fee waiver lol.

QUOTE(lovelies @ Aug 13 2025, 09:01 PM) I have been SCB credit card holder for almost 10 years. Now, just recently I received email from SCB that my new combine limit is only 11K. It is like 82% cut of my original limit. I have always use the card for some petrol, some groceries purchases, internet bill auto debit and never missed a payment and always repay the card in full. Why out of sudden SC cut my limit? That new limit is basically not quite useful now. Anyone experiencing same thing? It is quite hard to navigate through their SC phone menu as their menu making us quite difficuly to reach to a human assistant. now they only focus on using secure mail.

QUOTE(ThE-1cY @ Aug 28 2025, 05:40 PM) Just requested to cancel my simple cash cc even though I had very high credit limit. No waiver for annual fee this year and tired of using secure mail to beg for annual fee waiver yearly. Im planning cancelling mine next month cos the annual fee will be charging next month. If waiver request unsuccessful then i cancel. The annual fee is very funny. They give u cashback but annual fee offset the cashback given lolol.
