I had a similar experience to claim some RM0.99 socks from Hush Puppies Pavilion (Digi's offer).

it sounds more like they want your big fund more than pledge small amount of FD and get you a CC

or maybe they are going the lazy path, you be priority banking customer, then you apply cc they can get you easier without any pledge or whatsoever. and meantime, they increase their customer base in priority banking... lol

Why need pledging FD for a credit card? Use your salary slip, business proof to apply one.

I think most is young people. For people retired (mayb > 60yo) why bother to apply cc after 60 years of not having it. just use cash. I believe old people are rich like boss.

There is professional service, and probably each bank has their own categorize.

tried calling SCB but they outright refuse to give any rebate although when I signed up sales agent said just call and ask. all other banks have been generous also. Just trying to check if everyone else is having the same issue with SCB

Not gonna call u to stop whining but David has a point there. Upto banks to decide lo. Like last time I used uob one card many years back, I call bank to waive my annual fee and give me sst rebate, they told me on the spot that they approve my annual fee waiver and sst rebate, for 3 years. Meaning every year waive annual fee and auto help me pay sst. Citibank pulak give me on yearly basis. Don't want give me straight 3 years. Haha nothing I can do. Every year call citi lo until I cancel, they say we can give u 3 years annual fee waiver and gst rebate, I told them now gst era, not annual fee jao no gst. Apa rebate. Direct cancel the card.
Haha. Mai like that. Give chance to him/her. Some ppl need pay rm25, they go crazy. For me I earn cb from the card. Cannot rebate biar pi. Give some, gain more.
