Even though I have no experience on this, I believe RM 1200 will get 5% cash back as long as doesn't fall into exclusion.
There's always this banner in the SC internet banking portal/app asking me to convert a particular large sum transaction to flexi pay even though I had clear the outstanding amount.

If you're not aiming for NTB sign up gift, you can apply the next day right after cancellation.
This is what my Business Development Executive told me.
Whether your application will be approved or not, it's another subject-matter thingy.
