You only need the cast app to set it up for the first time. I set mine up ages ago, I no longer have the cast app and it works with my other apps like YouTube. FYI you don't install apps to the chromecast.

You don't need the chrome app installed. You can cast straight from YouTube and Netflix apps respectively.

Bought ip7 plus from them last month. Didn't encounter any issues so far. Just need to wait a while for my matte black. They foc a phone cover as well btw.

Err it work like this
Assume you just purchase chromecast, download the apps in your phone in order to setup
Once complete, open any apps that support chromecast (example YouTube / netflix)
When you watch the video in your phone / pc, you will show a chromecast icon
Just press it and wait few seconds to let it cast to your tv, good luck
