ye i received the email because i email the manager directly and the recruiter replied it.
so you might want to email or call the recruiter to check if your name is in kiv, fail or result in june?
Schlumberger, anyone work there?

can you actually postponed if you are hired by a year? since they always have recruitment every year?
I don't want to forgo the chances to be with slb, but I want to stay with new company for at least a year before moving on...do you that's possible to request? |

yes i have already went through the final stages of the interview...but due to economic recession as they put it, my results is known only until june...better than the rest of my friends that received rejection letter.
anyway i am keeping mum since i am switching to a new job and prefer to spend at least 6 months - 1 year before going to slb. |

QUOTE(=--ChoonG->> @ May 7 2009, 12:23 PM) All right... Probably I can try to answer why your results will only be known after June. Most likely you are one of the confirmed since you told me rest of your pals got the rejection letters... They already laid off a certain percentage of ppl due to the economy slowdown and the low oil prices... They are monitoring whats happening till Q2 before deciding what they want to do next... Lay off more ppl? Or economy is getting better... Lets hire the minimum amount so they are fully trained once the economy recovers... I will, once end of may comes around, I think they shouldn't mind right since the recruitment is every year?Since you want to work for your current company for a year, maybe you SHOULD inform your recruiter about your situation. He/ she should be very approachable and friendly... But then again, these are my 2 cents of opinions |

due to time constraint since mine is well testing, the manager decided to skip a stage of the interview( going to offshore) and proceed with the final round(interview with the manager).mine was back in january or february.
my friend find out the email for the manager and email him asking the result and he in turn asked the klrecruiter to reply back to us. I guess if you asked for updates you then received an email from them? why don't you contact the kl recruiter for it? although don't get your hopes high since we all know that they are dismissing people. |

I can't divulge the name of the company, but the position is analyst that does market trend for oil and gas market.the job is interesting as you have to stay on top of the economic trend, political and government policy and all that.
and it is already my third job since graduating and i'm trying to improve my employment record. that is why i prefer to stay at least 1 year before going. and how about yours? have you called the recruiter? |

i think you can find a better option out there, and don't focused that much on o&g.
my first two jobs are unrelated to o&g, first is maintenance eng, second is an enve consultant and third is analyst...have no idea what's next... expand you views... this is the time not to be choosy. |

you can only reapply after a year.that's why it's saying your application is a dupe.
I don't think there's only 1 recruiter.the one that was present in all my interview was fauziah. so whenever i called slb i asked to speak with her and so far she's always available. to kira: doesn't matter if you're specialized in petroleum , you could always venture outside of the scope. just apply everything that requires eng skills, and yes that even include management trainee for banks or anything under the sun. hahaha I know when I went for the interviews everyone seems so "poyo" acting like god i got this interview, i'm better that the rest of you, type of attitude. i'm pretty sure that lady is a noob, with the backpack and all that. I don't think having connection makes a different. As far I know, everyone I know hired by slb is hired by their own merit.
I know a guy that was rejected for FE because they said he has too high qualification and should go into R&D dept but the guy want to experience the offshore life.So I guess they really don't hire anyone that have higher in term of qualification for positions. |

Depending on what you want. I heard some pretty horror story about the working condition and the effect. But i guess that's why they pay you that high.
I'm interested in slb because at some point in my career I really want to experience the tough life and really tech skill applied to my job. The pay is interesting but I want the experience more. It would add a nice story to my resume. |

I haven't actually called them, but I heard they are rehiring again as one of my friend's friend is hired by them recently.
At this point, I know that I want to join slb but I'm not sure now or later. So I'm a bit hesitant to call them up as I haven't make my decision yet. Fauziah isn't the least bit friendly at least not when I dealt with her. So I don't think whether a recruiter is friendly or not matter as you only go through them when they picked you for interviews and its the manager that decided whether you'll get the job or not. But still keep a smile on your face and friendly demeanor. From my experience, at least I got return calls and emails soon after I called or emailed them. But for most of my friends, they take forever to call or reply to your email. So if they don't return your call or email you back, persist in doing so. EDITED: Called slb, it seems fauziah left everything in a mess and the new recruiter can't find where she put stuff and so i already sent my resume to her again and asked for updates which i will follow up later. so ppl out there if you're waiting for updates that is probably the reason why we haven't heard anything from slb. a mess because the recruiter can't access the official email and asked me to forward my resume to her.
and she said,i quote," i don't know where she put all the files" I think this might ruin my chances of getting anything with slb...because i know a friend of mine just got hired and yet she said, slb hasn't hired and next round of hiring is in july, 5 positions offered. |

We'll see how it goes
and yes I know that sharing names in public is bad. However, before you leave..you can actually makes sure the official email is accessible. think of how many people has actually been sending their emails and anxiously waiting for it. I am not offered anything yet...I'm waiting for my final interviews results. my line is well testing for malaysia. I would hate of going through the interviews again or being look over the new applications just because the new recruiter can't find that I am already on the final list. That's a bit unfair to me and to the rest of applicants that have applied since last year. Anyway, she's gone and thus doesn't make sense for us to talk about it. What we can do for now, is how to get the job for the next round. and July sound awfully far away. I do not want to call every week but I do need to know where I stand so I can understand my chances of ever getting the job. |

it's not that they don't hire, it's just easier for the applications to go through
