anyone knows how to open this thing? i plan to install a DIY strut bar

i saw ur pic..goes over it.. but initially the side where got screw holes? must drill rite?

what strut bar u wanna install??... got pic??...
if it is screwed to the absorber screw, u might need a airgun to open it... coz kinda hard as well...

no drill...the screws and holes were all there.....even the SCREWS.....

just unscrew the nuts and then install and tighten the nuts again.....

what model is your car.....i am sure there is a specially made strut bar......i can give you the contact person and then he can find for you......

i wna instal sth like this,but hav to know whether hav to drill any holes...

wait wait... what strut bar u planing to install??..

that pic looks like a saga/iswara.... if u gonna install UR front bar, no u dont need to remove any of that... jz weld the plate at the sides jz like this..



if normal cap ayam bar which screws to the absorber screw, yes u need to remove it....

from the pic , i doubt the effectiveness .

why is it not effective? I tink anything that connects the two ends wil jz do... those strut bars are way too expensive. the material is jz normal steel/ alumimum..

thats cool man, after install car reli got stable? ur cold air intake isit connected to the air filter? or jz a hose from front part until near the filter only?

well.....those good brands actually did some research for the strut bars....

anyway.....not all strut bars are just normal steel/aluminium...

ultra racing is mostly made from steel....

the one from zenden like mine is made from alloy....which is lighter and stronger

yeah... really got effect after installing the bar... reduce chassis flex alot... more stable cornering....

my cold air intake isnt connected to the filter... coz i'm using ufo K&N filter, there isnt any airbox for me to connect to the CAI.... so, i made 2 CAI to face my filter...

tester my car there whre got screw?? not like urs got screw la...
mayb nid to weld?

mind sharing what car are you driving so that I can try and locate some sample pictures for you .....

if the mounting is not stable, the bar will flex, reducing the effectiveness of the struts, the struts is supposed to balance out load on one side of the suspension, if your strut bars is 100% effective, during cornering, your suspension spring rate will be doubled, thus more stable

with weldings i really doubt the effectiveness :s

the bar itself is a round shape , which is quite hard ... but the edge there connected to flat shape hinge . flat shape is easy to be bend . try use ur ruler , see easy to bend or not ? ... notmal strut bar has whole construction with two circle on both end which is much more solid and stable in configuration .

the 3 point one is not really good for ur car .
i ahve read before , it must be on that two points only , that is one of the way to make it cancel-off each other forces .
for the one screw into firewall , in long term firewall might have loosen due to forces . ask ppl about this , many 3 point user expreienced .

what bar u bought??... brand??... got pic??...

given that the welding is done properly, it should be strong enough....

for UR strut bars, only iswara front bar is different with other car front bar.... only UR front bar is welded to the frame while others are bolted on....
not sure why, mayb due to the design of the holes around the absorber mounting hole.... there are only 2 holes....

ur point might be true for a street driven car... coz street cars still do need some chassis flex to absorb vibrations and shocks from the road....
but if ur car is used for track purpose with hard cornering, more points is better...

so ur car is for sports purposes lar catacomb? haha

nolah...my car is just capalang street car....more to a family mini mpv car.....the car is big and bulky so cannot corner fast....the only reason I installed this is for better handling and comfort on straight road when i drive about 140-160km/h.....somehow after installing the bar....the car is less bumpy and I feel my steering very "calm"......

I would suggest you take a look at other iswara cars that installed the bar first before making any holes. Drilling at the wrong point might harm your strut tower and even worse, might affect your absorber.

maybe you can take a look at how the UR bar is done. catacombs said that the bar is welded on. maybe can try ask your mechanic if he know where to weld the bar.

my car no sportscar la... vr slow car.... i chose UR because zenden dun have front bar for saga iswara mah... for saga iswara, they only have lower arm bar...

what brand is ur front bar??.. if UR, yes u need to weld it... if u dunno how, send it to any UR dealer workshop and ask them install... of u go straight to UR factory install...

dont simply drill holes into ur strut tower... this will affect ur overall chassis rigidity... besides, all aftermarket bars are some sort of plug n play... u dont need to mod ur chassis to fit it in... except UR which they insist of welding it to the car frame....
