If I'm not mistaken, you can go back to V1.50 through recovery in all the custom firmwares (including V3.52 M33).

- latest software features for the PSP.

Well, you'll be surprised that it could run using only AC power and no battery..

But never do that when flashing.

Answers:
1. Hardware/software defects (including dead/stuck pixels) and bundled accessories.
2. Check the guide on the first page. You have a high chance of identifying fake MSPDs and fake batteries if you read them.
3. Hard to tell. But do this: counter check the serial number on the PSP with the serial number on the box you're given. If different, confirm recon. If same, not 100% not recon too.

- I have no idea how much a battery would cost you.
- Erm, I don't have any idea on how long it'd take to charge the battery from 0 - 100%. I charge my PSP whenever possible.
- Erm, again, I don't have an accurate answer for the battery life. I'm running on the 4th level of brightness and 333MHz on UMD and I think I can roughly (maybe less, maybe more. Not sure.) play 5-6 times of 1-hour gaming.

1 hour is more than enough for me.. I play Test Drive Unlimited everynight just before I sleep..
