If you guys are wondering if your occupation is demanded on Australia states and what kind of requirement for your occupation to apply Australian visa, I highly recommend this website called ANZSCO Search .

https://www.anzscosearch.com/

Just sign up and login with your username and password, and search your occupation. It will list down which states is opening for your occupation/skills. Also, ANZSCO Search is constantly updating their occupation database of every states.

Hope this helps smile.gif

there's one i found called seven seas, looks not bad as they have an interactive estimator
the largest box i tried can fit a queen and king size mattress, 3 seater sofa, and still has space for 3-4 more boxes, around RM5k from KL to Melbourne
then another AUD500 from Melbourne to the place you live

if you do find any other info, do share bro, i'm looking for one also

Thanks mate. That's the one I have found as well. Fairly positive reviews on another forum specific to NZ migration. Just that my shipping needs are much less, so they may be higher scale than I need. I have also checked with UPS and their rates are quite good (KL to Aus is in Zone 2 for them so good rates). I will let you know what else i find.

i'm still considering which to use, cos if its too expensive, i might just forego the larger items then just send small items only

Been there, done that, bought a bumper sticker.

Be frank with your abilities before you migrate and ask yourself what you can offer over a local. If you still come up with something, then by all means apply. If not, you're wasting your time and money.

My hubby got invitation to apply for SA today.

However, due to current situation, any peeps out there could advise us?
As my baby is due in another 4 months, I cant go for Xray and bodycheck.

what can we do? I heard that we can ask DIBP to defer and set our application aside, and do the healthcheck once baby delivered. and then apply me and baby together as dependant.

Is this true? Will they discard my hubby application?

if you already have a case officer assigned to you, you can email them and let them advice you on your situation

from what i read, you can always ask for an extension if you need more time to provide any documents that they request for

good luck and congratulations smile.gif

How in the world are you suppose to secure employment when you're not PR?

They are not going to hire you unless you got PR.

Only those exceptional cases where by their co transfer them.

The last sentence is the category where my already successfully migrated relatives are in.

To my knowledge, they are the only ones who have managed to secure their PR without involving much of their life living as undocumented immigrants.

I am not just referring to Australia, the other western countries as well.

I have quite a number of friends and acquaintances who have had (or still are) trying to secure employment that is relevant in their field and in turn secure them PRship by working in convenience stores on minimum wage. doh.gif

It's fine if it pays off within a couple of years and you get your PR after being successfully employed in the field you're in, but it's unwise if you're just gonna arrange stock in a grocery store in a Melbourne suburb, lose out your mid 20's years and not accumulating experiences in your relevant work field here in Malaysia.

I have known far too many people (and am likely to know more in the future now that so many of us Malaysians want to GTFO of the country with our economy going to the dogs) who have wasted their youth away and end up returning with little savings and too old to secure what that is meant for fresh-graduates.

i.e. my ANU (one of the prestigious Go8 unis) engineering graduate nephew (who is in his early 30's) and refuses to come back ever since he graduated about 5 years ago, after all these years failing to secure employment in his field (still is, the last I heard) he's still doing minimum wage work in an unrelated field. His justification? His wage is already more than what he would be paid in fresh graduate salary here as an engineer in Malaysia. He doesn't ever take into consideration that you don't get paid fresh graduate salary for 5 years straight (at least it's not the norm, any way) doh.gif

One day, in our opinion, he'll return, and when he does, god knows how is he going to progress, both career-wise and in life. Still no PR, btw.

True that. When I decide to take the plunge and move over permanently, ie aka to retire permanently in Australia, I will do so on my terms, on my rules and on my time.

Of course, the difference is I intend to go over from a position of strength and from a position of financial power. I am not going there to stack shelves at Coles or Myers.

Sharing only. Friend grad with eng degree in aus, failed to secure a proper eng job (in not surprised with typical msian communication capacity). Multilingual but useless if can't master one. Accepted job as a techie doing 20/hr, close to the min wage. Non exec freelance worker. Worked a year then got pr around thr (2016). Happy with life, renting and living frugally at Sydney.
Promotion prospect = negative outlook. Perm contract conversion = negative outlook.

Dunno why gotta take life till so jit toh.. The poison of short term thinking among our generation + fuel of bad prospect of beloved Malaysia? sad.gif

I'm not judging him tho. As long he's happy with it then it's fine. Bangla coming our country and happy with min wage so... diff ppl diff views n path of success. If me I'll rather start locally with good prospects and move in after I build certain skills
