I haven't use any floppies on my system since 2003. Only plug it in to flash my gfx card or mobo BIOS, then remove it, save weight and space

Meh, we don't use them, but some oldies from the floppy era cannot live without them. I remember my sis have to find a floppy drive just because her lawyer demands her letter to be in a floppy.....

it's pretty common. it's still the cheaper medium to use for exchanging files.

1 floppy is RM 2 or less, drive is RM 25.

CDs are cheap but you need a burner, heck you need to teach people how to use those software to burn. so it involves learning, humans hate learning. so yeah, floppy is here to stay for a while, just like how cassettes still exist today.

me? i don't use floppies. i've never had floppy disks on my PC for a few years now. all files exchanged via USB / CD / Internet. smile.gif

I don't see any alternative to installing RAID drivers without using floppy during WinXP setup (the whole F6 thing).

I also not using floppy since year 2005, but I only take it out from my rig last year as I found out it take up some space and bring 1 cacing in my rig... thumbup.gif
If floppy really stop production, I think those manufacturer will soon find their way out to replace the use of floppy...just the matter of time... wink.gif

a pendrive is equivalent to hundreds of diskettes, so we can save more money and space

geh, i remember during the times when CD burners were still hard to buy by typical users, we used to copy MP3s using file splitters and lots and lots and lots of floppy..... lol. 1 song can take 3~6 floppy at the time....
I think newer windows installation DVDs will include the ability to install raids from USB flash drive and/or include it in the DVD if it's widely used
