Recently we are on a design stage of a intermediate single storey terrace house layout and we would like to install CCTV home surveillance system with at least 3/4 outdoor cameras at front car porch area and 2 outdoor cameras at the rear of the house.

For front car porch area, the 2 outdoor cameras are for outwards left and right coverage, then another 1 or 2 are for inside wooden door coverage. Might also add 1 each for front and back for a zoomed in shot for a clearer close up picture of certain area.

Monitor/TV I might install 1 at living/dining area and 1 at kitchen.

I actually plan to DIY it if possible by searching some guides online/ YT. I saw a senior here shared that better use POE instead of coaxial. My parents house is using coaxial on Hikvision system, I found that not convenient sometimes, and the connector tends to loose, need some adjustment to get it right. I believe CAT6 cable is easier and stable with only snap into the port right?

Fellow friends here kindly share some thoughts and recommendation as well as the brand and system that I could get for my setup. I lean towards easy maintenance, user friendly, self upgrading, optional cloud storage capable.

We are in tight budget for the renovation, so we would like to calculate the overall cost. Of course we prefer not to cheap out on this because these days home surveillance is equally important.
