I went to multiple CCTV shop and yes mostly they are not advice to go with siren CCTV such as hikvision PIR siren CCTV. They said false alarm might annoying and sound very loud.

Instead they offer ezviz c3w pro for my scenarios. Which also will trigger alarm and siren but not as loud as wired cam.. I got quotation about 3k for 6 c3w pro and including installation and memory cards & plug point.. is this a better option? As they said it have better AI human detection.. but wireless.. I'll have 3 mesh routers so wifi coverage might not be an issue..
*
Hik PIR Siren camera got no Ai human detection. It is based on camera's PIR (Motion detector) to trigger Siren.
U shd look for Wired Ai system.

Ezviz C3W also can do the job, if u dont want use WIFI, u can lay wired for it, it got LAN port.

oh saw ur pm there.. got you now.. yeah.. thats why they are not recommend me to go for PIR siren camera.. btw, is that any wired ai system can suggest to me?? i would like to look for nearby vendor and see whether they could deploy in my location..  true, they also suggest to have CAT6 RJ45 LAN port but power point are separated since ezviz is not POE.. they suggest me to go for C3W Pro..

thanks for advice.. as im zero knowledge about cctv except tapo cam that im using currently.. one of the things they suggested me to go for ezviz is easier to arm & disarm the alarm of CCTV easier than standard CCTV.. which i am wondering how other wired system, cannot control through mobile app?
*
U can try look for DAHUA brand, WizSense Series.

Would like to ask can I hook up analog 8mp 4k bnc port to dvr with poe port ?
*
Ur camera use BNC? if BNC mean analog system. U need to look for Analog DVR that support 8MP.
PoE is for IP Camera and NVR.

Not yet decide , just searching around for more information , due to want to diy myself. Saw some camera 8mp 4k spec but the nvr only show 5mp while most 8mp dvr are using poe port . So was wondering can a dvr with poe camera port can be wired to bnc port camera
*
If u want to use 8mp bnc cam, must look for 8mp dvr.
There are a lot dvr that support 8mp cam.
If u want to use PoE NVR, then u must use PoE IPcam.

for ur info, most of the DVR that support 4k camera only can record 4k at low frame rate, usually 7fps.
Still there are DVR that can record 4k @ 15fps.

Hello, does it means i can link ezviz to HIKVISION NVR? can the video store in NVR over wifi?

Thanks
*
Most Ezviz camera can link to HIK NVR.
But Ezviz cam not support PoE. So u cant direct connect Ezviz cam to NVR PoE Port.
The cam that come with the RJ45 port is for u to link camera to the router LAN port or network switch for more stable connection, instead of using WIFI.

quick ask.. in case if i plan to go for ezviz for AI human detection feature.. i found the unit itself not so expensive.. but the quotation by vendor is using C3TN OutPro instead of C3W Pro.. half price is for HW and another half price if for installation.. suppose i can install myself also right? i have drill, power plug also supplied by my wireman.. i just need get weatherseal cover and conceal the plug & point.. then adjust angle & conenct cam to my apps only right??
*
Just make sure all the power plug are covered, dont expose to water.
Regarding the C3W Pro model, it got 2 version: 2MP and 4MP.
If u want to link the C3W to NVR, u need to get special version.
C3W Pro sold by Shopee/Lazada OS unable to link NVR, must use SDcard to record.

just thinking out loud, in movies we see that the intruders will also take away the DVR or the HDD in the DVR when they leave, just wondering how do people make a backup of the DVR?

is it possible to do it via a NAS?

or a 2nd DVR located somewhere else in the house and link both via network?

thanks
*

hi can suggest any NVR that can work with ezviz ip camera C6N and c3x.
*
If u buy the ezviz online, 90% can't link NVR, firmware locked.
If no lock, then u can link them to HIKVISION NVR or DVR easily.

Hi guys,

I am currently looking to install a CCTV at my condo foyer. Currently the area do not have wiring so I would need to get an electrician to pull the wire. There is a light point there I am wondering if it is possible to use the light point as the power source?

Looking for recommendation for CCTV as well.
1. The unit will be installed at my condo foyer. Not exposed to sunlight and rain
2. Would prefer continuous recording
3. Need to support motion detection
4. Intend to just use wireless connection

I saw most of the forumers here recommend Ezviz a lot. But there are many models. Appreciate some advice on the suitable model based on my needs above.

Thank you in advance guys!
*
U can use the light point as power source, always On the light switch, adding a wireless on/off module to control the light, tap the wireless camera to the light point.
Recommend u use Ezviz H8C-4MP with Color Night Vision, Auto Tracking, Active Strobe Light, AI Person Detection, price around RM245 without Memory Card, 256GB can store around 10 - 13days 24hrs footage. If u want longer recording, u can link the camera to recorder with Harddisk.

You meant to use a motion sensor to control the on/off of the light? That is a good idea too. An alternative would also be to pull wiring from nearby db I would assume?

Thanks for the recommendation. Really appreciate it. I have a 64GB SD card, that would amount to 3-4 days of recording I would assume?
*
What i mean is use Remote control to control the light. But if u want to use motion sensor also can.
64GB shd b around 2 - 3 days

Hey guys, was wondering if using a dashcam as CCTV is a good economic alternative? I'm just using it for indoors looking out eg. balcony with glass doors. Reason also is because I don't want to deal with the hassle of pulling wires, drilling etc. and setting up with a DVR/NVR.
*
Dashcam use hotspot for live stream, mean u need to connect to the dashcam hotspot wifi to stream the video, playback, etc.
But Dashcam still need power right? Need to connect to a 5V USB.. unless u use powerbank.
Maybe u can look for Solar Powered Battery CCTV Cam, example Ezviz, Reolink.

For Hikvision system, can you get a China origin (grey import) camera and use it with a local NVR (i version) and still be able to use all the features like colorVU, Accusense etc?
*
If u dont use their cloud p2p server Hik-connect, then no issue.
But if you want to use Acusense Notification, u hv to use their p2p server for snapshot picture storage and notification

What's the recommended model to go for nowadays, in terms of best bang for the buck.
Is standard 2MP sufficient?

Go for at least 4MP.
