Personally I prefer to collect in person than delivery, for the excitement as well as confirmation (at least I know I will get it for sure as long as I’m there), dislike the odd hour waiting for delivery (and disappointment from changes of date) and to avoid mishandling from courier people..had a few deliveries with damaged boxes and would assume the impact was bad to have caused such dents…

I don't think the delivery is done by maxis people, they uses courier services for delivery, can't remember which courier they use, need someone else to confirm this.. but yes they require to verify NRIC before handing you the phone..

Apparently they uses Brightstar, which is quite good..

If not mistaken the Rm300 is a non refundable deposit.. however you can try talk to them and see if they can rebate you back via bill..

official maxis walk in centers do not (and cannot) have such restrictions for existing line recontact, only the dealers and partners put such restrictions to gain more sales from new port ins..

Yea ill only get things done at official walk in centers, had a few bad experience with partners/dealers where my info were no where to be found in maxis system, turns out the dealers were using old systems and takes time to transfer to their main system

not the worst, there was once I signed up home fiber from a dealer coz they give special rebates, ended up waited for a month without update, after all the empty follow ups and waits, to find out that the registration actually failed and was not informed etc etc... straight went to official walk in and get it settled..

Personally I feel walk in store will give better chances of getting ready stocks, but you can also camp their website to check for stock availability..can place order if there’s any available..

Graphite and blue are the hot colour this year, so it’s harder to find them…

heard from my friend he went to maxis pyramid this morning and bought his phone ready stock, however he didnt share which variant is available

Just pay the penalty for the balance..for 4 months balance you probably only need to pay around 150-200 bucks, or lesser…pretty worth it for the subsidized price on a 2 years contract vs RRP..

Yeap stocks can go very fast, have to keep refreshing page.. sometimes they might restock right at the moment you refresh, on lucky day

Official walk in centers are not supposed to restrict to only new lines, only partners and dealers would, you can call 123 before you go, if the stores don’t allow then you lodge a complain via 123 and tell them you want this report going to HQ/Menara, and get the reference ID, return to the official outlet with the ID and they will let you recontract your existing line (only if the existing contract is due for renewal).

actually the craze has slowed down, most maxis centres have available stocks now...unless you want the 1tb ones... they mostly have ready stocks for 128/256 all colours available.

I heard from friends there are ready stocks at pyramid and klcc maxis..not sure about other outlets but I think they all have some ready stocks available..
