Its already spread across the web, news,fb,forum n whatnot..if u choose to ignore it,u still said u dont know.

Even sms blasted, u still said u never recv.trust me.
*
i'd think that SME would wanna cover all bases and be able to say i have done a lot...

like first recall, my telso sent an SMS with a link, saying it's important notice.

also, if media, etc already covered, so why call? just put on website all the details and tell ppl go to shop. no need to call and explain... right? smile.gif

anyway, just playing devil's advovcte.

airlines now announcing ban. meaning... you cannot bring it on board. you cannot put in luggage or claim to just want to power down.

i repeat... if you wanna get on the plane, the phone stays... in the airport.

it's like those explosive, etc... you think airlines will let you in if you check in the explosives in your luggage?

It is now a federal crime to bring a Galaxy Note 7 onto an airplane
http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/16/1329884...-administration

The Federal Aviation Administration officially banned Galaxy Note 7s from being brought onto airplanes earlier this week, and under a new Emergency Restriction / Prohibition Order, it’s now a federal crime to fly with the device.

The FAA issued Emergency Restriction/Prohibition Order No. FAA-2016- 9288 on Friday, which states that as of noon on October 15, fliers are prohibited from bringing the device onto an aircraft. The order restricts passengers from carrying the phone "on their person, in carry-on baggage, in checked baggage, or as cargo," and says that anyone who inadvertently brings one on a plane must power it down immediately. Carriers are also required to "deny boarding to a passenger in possession" of the phone.

Passengers who bring a Note 7 onto a plane are "subject to civil penalties of up to $179,933 for each violation for each day they are found to be in violation (49 U.S.C. 5123)," and could be prosecuted, which could "result in fines under title 18, imprisonment of up to ten years, or both (49 U.S.C. 5124)."

For DIGI user of Note 7, I already return my Note 7 to DIGI centre yesterday (17/10/2016) at Garden DIGI centre. All you need is to fill up a form stating your name, IC, phone number and online transaction number. In the form, you are able to choose REFUND or TAKE OTHER DEVICES (S7 edge or IP7/7 plus) with discount RM200.

Things that need to be returned,
1. Phone itself (Note 7 and the S-Pen)
2. Box only (All those accessories do not need to return, FREEBIES DO NOT NEED TO RETURN)

Then, you are prompt to change your phone plan if you are opt for REFUND. So bascially I am taking the postpaid plan RM80 for 20GB one. The new plan. It is contractless.

So for those who are DIGI user for Note 7, you can start to RETURN your Note 7.

DO NOT DANGEROUS PEOPLE's LIFE since there are 1st Malaysia case with Smoke Note 7 already. Thank you

FORGET one thing. The REFUND process will take 3 weeks time. They will issued the cheque and deliver to your address that you 1st obtained your Note 7. Thank you again

this while thing is leaving a bad taste in my mouth...

* refund period, kinda long...
* what about accessories that i bought -- i mean, i got Samsung SP. no receipt but box still with me...
* compensation for those not taking the exchange is really... nothing. cr4p... and i have to go to digi store to return it?!?

what the heck...

*

Just came back from Digi Store.

Option 1. Get refund from Digi. Amount still not known as they need to calculate from the date you return N7 mainly on those refundable advance payment we paid earlier.

Option 2. Exchange S7 Edge.
This is interesting.

1st we need to sign up new contract with phone price plus advance minus the RM200 discount (they also not sure can opt for RM68 plan as now Digi only offering RM98 plan for S7 Edge package).

2nd we must pay the new contract price 1st while waiting for the refund which will take 3 weeks.

Which option is good? Your call.
*
personally, i'll just grab option 1.

no doubt no good phones around atm, so, i'm back to my note2.

s7e... is kinda "old" phone. for me... if i wanna grab, i'd grab during pre-order where there's lots of freebies and it's really worth it. else... nar...

i can wait for the next best phone...

Contacted Digi about the phone. Like few forum need mentioned , they offer a refund or change the device to s7e or iPhone 7 plus with 200 discount.

Personally I think the s7e deal is a really really bad deal. Since they follow the retail price. Your best bet is to take a full refund and buy from Lazada or gemfive .

On the other hand, the iPhone 7 plus is a good deal. For the 32gb , you still get some money back from Digi. No need to top up at all. For the 128gb , you only need to top up 381.

Gonna opt for the 128gb ip7plus. Yes, it's still a downgrade compared to the note 7. Bo bian, have to suffer for 1 year . What's good is that iPhone tend to have high resell value , meaning my note 8 next year would be free
*
how much did you pay for device? rm2.1k or so?

just wanna know what $$$ you used when you mentioned the top up...

also, what plan did you have to sign up for after that?

148 monthly. Yes only that much after the 200 rebate. The 128gb is roughly 2.1k after gst and 200 rebate
*
ok... nvm... rm148 monthly... wow... that's more than double of what i am paying for my monthly plan... smile.gif

finally Samsung Malaysia blast out message asking owners to shut down phone.

they should have done this last week...

anyway... interesting that they are asking owners to power down and participate in refund/ exchange program but some telco still have not sorted out the process... heck, based on some sharing here... some telco dun even seem to be aware...!

if you got your set from Digi and you plan to keep accessories..
please wait.

currently, they insist full box despite Samsung Malaysia saying they only want back phone + pen + box.

read an article about how Oculus might be affected by this Note7 recall.

so I guess this is one way to continue pushing Oclus via Gear VR

samsung simply expecting us to have another spare phone or have the cash to get another phone right away
sigh

while Samsung is at fault for causing all these..

it's still not a good idea to risk using it.

at first, many say it won't happen to anyone in Malaysia.. and now it has..

thanks for sharing this...

ya, i think generally, Samsung Malaysia is just not keen on retaining ppl... first recall, can even give a cheapo and non-Samsung SP.

now compensation pun basically nothing, if we don't opt for exchange...

5. Edge screen. I thought it was gimmicky, but after trying and customising it to my need, it's actually pretty handy and I like it.
*
i mean... just cuurious... how would the edge bit be different? how is it more handy compared to the flat screen?

sorry ya, just curious...

if it's the the edge panel... can be easily replaced with SWIPEPAD apps that has got even more functions.

for me... it was useless to have curved edges... movies don't feel so nice. some websites display in full screen and i need to turn phone a bit... i can't even use the pen properly when i wanna crop the sides...

Just got my call from maxis. ...

Stuck with the contract option for either s7e or p9 plus. ...

No option for refund...

Forced to choose. ...

Going for s7e coz the camera n screen resolution n ip68.

Sadly will be charged 101 coz on maxis one plan 128 for next 24 months.

The waiver will be 101 for the next three bills.

So. ..will end up paying 2424 minus 303 = 2121....

Suxks coz still paying 101 for a lesser product

Maxis vs users score -->1 : 0
*
hmmm... i guess maybe coz zerolution is kinda different.. it's like paying a service where you get free phone + call plans...

as opposed to other telco that is more a phone + plan bundle.

anyway, you got confirm again by calling CS and ask? or perhaps... just drop by Maxis CS and ask?
