Dear Sifu-sifu dan guru-guru,

A) Kindly accept me into the club. Just bought Redmi Note 3. Haven't transfer in my SIM card yet.

B) Do I update my phone or just use the existing ROM? I mean, is there any critical bug or issues with the new version.

Hi GameSky,

Do you mean this app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.devcheck

Sorry for asking so many basic questions... Too many years living with stock Android in Moto.

UPDATE: Yes, after checking with DevCheck... confirm mine is Kate version.

The only bad thing is less custom ROM developer for it and finding a perfect fitting case is kinda a hassle..
If you're the type no problem using stock ROM shouldn't be a problem, the case u can always look for it in Lelong etc.. Bought a KATE flipcase for my friend recently.. thumbup.gif

If you are going from Android 5.1 based ROM to Android 6.0 or vice versa, your bootloader will be relocked.

Seem like both are same.

If you had unlocked bootloader and do not wish to relock bootloader when flashing using MiFlash, flash it with Bootloader mode and not EDL. Flashing via EDL always relock bootloader.

Bootloader mode = Fastboot?

This is not true. I tested before when I have unlocked the BL and it is Global Stable ROM. The phone was sold to someone and before sold, I flashed it back to original state (Global Stable to Global Stable) using EDL mode + MiFlash with CLEAN ALL (not CLEAN ALL_Lock) and the BL is still unlocked.

However, for this time,

when changing from China Dev ROM to Global Stable ROM using the same method as above (EDL mode + MiFlash + Clean_ALL), it didn't get locked. I have to use Clean_All_Lock

Hi all,

I am following the guide->Flashing Vendor/Fake/Bloatware ROM to Official Global ROM

At first, the guide shows me to download the latest ROM from the link:
Attached Image
Then, when I clicked on it, it gives me a list of ROM, but I couldn't find the Global ROM for MTK Redmi Note 3.

Attached Image

Those who did before, may I know which version to choose from?

My intention is to get rid of bloatware from Vendor's ROM.

Thanks!

I dunno boss confused.gif

But it sure took a long time to download. I start at 5pm and completed around 8pm. After reboot it was stuck at the MI logo for 25 minutes (feel like having heart attack).

There's is no global MTK ROM because this device is never meant to be sold outside of Mainland China anyway and Goggle services is basically useless without VPN there.
