Actually i was informed by few of my whatsapp groups regarding the Halt Production news in the morning. Yes definitely there is some ppl very annoying, selfish and childish sorry to say that whom are same as some forumers here. Those people ( i dont know them personally) mostly shiok sendiri saja and like to get every1 attentions. While most of my close friends are concerned of me and a few others who using note 7 and asking us to be cautious . Some even offer to lent out their spare phone if i need it. Frankly speaking we have more things to do & worry in our life than loitering & reporting at Samsung note 7 incidents
*
Typical Malaysian mentality lo what to do. I will just ignore those who take this Note7 incident and make fun of me because i know my Note7 is more superior than their ifonessss

Sadly to say, none, bro. Since you said available on sale in Malaysia, there's really not much choices out there. Some said it's iPhone 7, but that's in different system, so it's really up to you. Other than that, Oneplus 3 is the closest in term of performance.
*
Oneplus take forever to restock the OP3. I want android because i can install third party modified apps like spotify hehe.

My only list of potential replacement phones are

- Note5 (because of the s-pen)
- S7egde (the nearest to note7 as of specs)
- Ip7+ (resale value)

Although I don't really prefer iphones (last iphone was ip4) but I need a phone that have high resale value because I still love note series and I would wait for Note8 next year.. So I need a phone that I can sell with good price to change to Note8.. I doubt S7edge will have high resale value next year??.. although i would love to change to s7edge because the specs are mostly the same..
*
I sold my S7edge back then at 2.2k. Still ok consider i bought it preorder at only 2479.20. I think i might switch to the fruit world this time, the only phone that goes head to head with Note7. Anyway, Note 7 is still my favourite phone especially the black onyx.

Just wondering... is the Note 7 the first and only Samsung phone to use these defective batteries? I find it dubious that no other Samsung models are using these batteries... no other models seem to be having any battery issues whatsoever? Why can't they just use back the supplier which supplies batteries to its S7?

Perhaps the issue is with some technical error or another component in the phone.
*
Exactly. Battery in Note 7 is not the cause of fire/explode. In fact, something in Note 7 device itself having problem, that trigger the battery to caught fire. As we all know lithium ion batteries are more vulnerable to catch fire and explode. It has nothing to do with the battery design, nor the manufacturer of the battery. It MUST be the design of the board in Note 7.

Refund me the RM2880 I paid for it and buy Google Pixel XL smile.gif

P/s: I wonder if clear coat is transferable to another phone or not lol because of this fiasco..
*
I don't think Google Pixel or Pixel XL will be officially in Malaysia, since this time they make their own phone and they will sell it themselves unlike last year Nexus 6p, made by Huawei, you can buy it from Huawei or Google itself. FYI, in Malaysia we cannot purchase directly from Google, it does not ship to Malaysia.
Unless there are AP seller like DirectD, and i reckon the price will be sky high.

For the time being, the mighty Note 7 is not dead yet. Maybe there is another recall exchange a new Note 7, but it wont be that soon, Samsung wouldn't want to rush again. But then people will still opt for refund due to lack of confidence.

luckily its a Samsung

imagine if it's a Sony having same problem with their Xperia XZ, chances are they can file for bankruptcy already whistling.gif
*
They wont. Because no one buy Sony phone anymore, so there will be no case of explosion or fire when no people are using it. In fact, they are already on the way to bankruptcy

wow what a heavy statement that is smile.gif

That's true. Following behind is htc. They will soon become like Nokia, abandoned and no one give a fuck anymore. Now both of them trying so so so hard to re-penetrate the smartphone market. They can take this opportunity though when Samsung is in deep shit.

No one give HTC a fuck? Which cave do you came from?
Stop being a fanboy la.
Even pre-orders of Pixels phones by HTC are highly demanded.
Sept sales for HTC increased 43% YoY.
HTC Vive products are highly in demand too.
Go Google those news.
Even how bad they are, at least these companies take their time to release their phones and not rushing them into the market like Samsung!
*
Pixels are not by HTC. Do your research properly. Pixels are by Google, and it is manufactured by HTC.
Btw, i'm not a fanboy of any brand, and i switch to any phone any brand whenever i want.

Do your research lah.
Directly or indirectly by HTC, it still by HTC.

This year htc, without Google new "Pixels" phone, they are still the same SOON to be abandoned brand that no one really care anymore. You don't see the hype with HTC 10 either. It is not unique and special enough to compete with other flagships.

Talking about Pixels, HTC does not have a single ownership of the Pixels. This year Pixels is different with last year Nexus 6p. Nexus 6p owned by Huawei and fully loaded software by Google only. Huawei cannot "touch" the software.
Nexus 6p are available for sale in Huawei and Google, whereas Pixels, you can only buy it from Google itself. This is what nexus phone are about for past few years. This year Google take a change, by producing Pixels themselves. Just like Apple, they did not manufacture a single iPhone or iPad. They look for third party company to manufacture them.

Sigh..... Note7 is in many ways the perfect device.... Everything the Note4 had, plus waterproofing, a better camera and default dualsim.

Too bad this episode happened. I wouldn't mind if they did a bargain basement sale after the rework, but I think they won't dilute the brand.

The Note brand won't die but this model sadly will.
*
I think you can still continue to keep your Note 7 and ignore Samsung to refund. But what happen in the future you cannot blame Samsung. And there will be no software update for Note 7 anymore.

Switching to other android device might seems like a downgrade from Note 7. The only phone that on par with Note 7 is the S7edge and iPhone.
Btw i sold my S7edge and switch to Note 7, wont go back to S7edge anymore. Now considering iPhone.

crazy S7E is MYR few hundred cheaper if getting from those online stores... can't be just swap like that...
*
S7edge RRP now in Samsung is 3099 (forget about other online store price). Note 7 pre-order price 2879.10. It does make sense if Samsung swap like that. You still getting higher value. So smart people will just get the full refund and they can buy it from online store (Lazada,gemfive,11street) for much cheaper price.

QUOTE(ceras @ Oct 12 2016, 12:26 PM)
SME has not mentioned a word on compensation. This will anger every owner. I dare speculate that every owner had spent a minimum of rm200 on accessories for Note 7, which is now rendered useless. Owners will also not forget the cheap sp given out during the first exchange. The screen warranty is of no value now (and no cost to SME). Samsung's reputation in Malaysia is further damaged by the useless SME team which is ultra slow in response and ultra stingy when handling this issue.
*
Welcome to Malaysia grin.gif

By the way, those who purchase extended warranty how? I think i will demand SME to refund full value of Note 7 which is 3199 and not the pre-order price as compensation.
