Barcelona card. Nvm just read cant redeem SST for this card sad.gif

Btw if i apply a new CC now, will i need to pay 2018 SST then 2019 SST as well? If so i will hold off activating the card.  hmm.gif

read the table >> https://www.maybank2u.com.my/iwov-resources...ardsSST_FAQ.pdf

depends on your situation.

if you have EXISTING mbb cards, the expiry month has been determined. subsequent cards will follow the same expiry month. in this case, it's scenario #3 in the SST FAQ ... since you have FCB VS now, i assume u were asking about subsequent mbb card.

if you are NEW TO MAYBANK, first card is FCB VS, you get charged SST upfront and next anniversary @ Nov 2019 (assuming u gotten the card in Nov 2018).

If I got the card in October and charged SST in 15 November 2018, my card expiry month is Dec, will I be charge SST for DEC 2018? Or each FY charge once?
*
no idea.

my interpretation is, you would get charged sst in Dec 2018 also. rclxub.gif

there is no statement/indication that sst is to be charged once per year, since mbb's sst charging is based on expiry month.

let's see if others have experienced similar scenario as yours for previous few months, or wait for yours in Dec.

Is FCB VS still the best card for cash back currently?

"best" is subjective laugh.gif depends on what you are aiming: good cb rate? good monthly cb? convenient to use? relaxed T&C?

I would go for good cb rate and convenient to use.
*
imo...

depends on what and how you use it, many cb cards are available e.g uob yolo @ 8%, or pbb cards 5%/6% for specific categories.

else, leverage on Bigpay for convenience (no restrictions in categories), then many other cards are available to reload bigpay, e.g. pbb cards 5%/6%, scb cards 3.x%, etc

even with FCB VS, use on May/Oct for 10% cb rate @ rm100 max cb, which is darn good, but limited to 2 months per year. if reload to bigpay, then can spread the fund for multiple months of usage...

Seems like this card sufficient for my usage

Reply from CS that it won't be charge, let's see.

'We are pleased to informed that there won't be another Service Tax since the fee has been charged on November 2018 under new card.  However,  should there be any based on the anniversary month, please do highlight it to us for necessary checking and rectification.'

Is the cashback mechanism for transaction and posting date changed or Maybank card centre CS give wrong info?
For instance, transaction performed on 30-Nov, posted on 1-Dec, it should be in December's cashback pool right? Was told by card centre CS, cashback pool based on transaction date not by posting date, therefore, if spend RM2500 on 30-Nov and posted on 1-Dec, it will still use November's cashback pool. But I supposed the cashback is credited on first of every month right? When asked to confirm with CS again, he said for the case the cashback for November and December will credit on 1-Jan-2019.
I read here it is not work that way, I really dunno whether can trust what he said is true or not. doh.gif

the cb behavior have been tried and tested by many of us here.

CS, probably following script/illustration in simplified manner. i doubt they know the actual cb behavior that is run from their billing system.

so far, there's no reports from us here whereby the cb is different than expected (our understanding).

only way is to get their product manager or technical billing team to explain the actual mechanic because they would have designed and tested it with variety of cb permutations...

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 26 2018, 05:31 PM)
if transaction on 31 Aug but posted on 1 Sep, cashback is 10% (transaction date in Aug) but the max cb limit is RM50 (posting date in Sep)

so, lowest spend amount to gain RM50 max cb (in Sep) is RM500 based on 10% transacted in Aug.

compared this to RM2,500 spending @ 2% to get RM50 max cb in Sep alone.

Is the rebate for Nov credited yet? I thought usually it will be credited at the end of each month but it still did not show in my unbilled transaction.
*
you should know this by now... are you sure you can "see" the cashback by end of the month?

it gets posted @ 1st of the month, only viewable in m2u unbilled transaction @ 2nd of the month.

since it's early now, unbilled transaction havent refreshed yet, but you can see the Last Payment Amount on the summary section...

Under the new M2U interface, you are not able to know transaction date correct? only shown the posting date straight.

But if you choose the old M2U interface, both details will be shown for each transaction.
*
yes, new m2u interface is too brief. can't even select-and-copy the texts too.

another method to see transaction date is from eStatement.

I believe I know what you meant when you said BigPay+Boost but not sure how you get the RM5.20 figure. Anyway, don't wanna go OOT so maybe that's not suitable to be discussed further.

The reason why I used Barca VS was due to 0% installment when paying using Maybank card. biggrin.gif I assumed that the CB will be done on monthly basis so I thought I'll only lose out the CB from the Nov installment while for the subsequent months, I no longer need to load BP with full RM2.5K.

Thanks to this thread further, it appears that the CB is calculated from the full amount so that's my mistake. sweat.gif

good luck to you...

Anyone got their cash back for month of Dec 2018? I have not seen the cash back yet as usually will be credited on 31 Dec 2018.
*
are you sure?

you usually SEE the cb on 31 Dec?

the cb always have transaction date of 28/29/30/31 , posted on 1st, viewable in m2u on 2nd.

*
ignore the football part. it doesnt influence the cashback whatsoever.

10% cashback (RM100) on May and Aug spending. that's it.
