I called at 4pm sharp. got connected and successfully verified!

Thanks bro.

Just two questions.

1) Is the charges on exchange rate high per transaction?

2) my iPhone and Apple watch will work on any paywave enable terminal?

Thank you
*
1.The exchange rate is negligible for me. If all my money is in euro, I would loss maybe 1sen per rm2.77. The huge loss is when you're transferring money from MYR to Euro

2.Yes, you can use your iphone n apple watch at any paywave enabled terminal, except Mcd drive thru, dunno why tak boleh hahhahahha. But just remember, Malaysian stores/cashiers etiquette is to take your card and tap it for you, so using mobile nfc payment is a bit weird for them. Some are weirded out by the N26 card itself cuz it doesn't look like any typical debit/credit card here in malaysia.

Actually I just realised that I have a SG debit card, how do I enable Apple Pay on my iPhone? Do I need to set the region to Singapore in order for it to appear?

Hi. Thanks for the guide in registering N26 and I used your referral code.  thumbsup.gif

I do have a bit of a problem though, I can't seem to topup using credit/debit cards. Tried all of my banks and contacted them before trying to make sure my account is allowed for overseas transactions but to no avail. N26 however said it was declined by the banks themselves, although none of them said this is true. Not even a transaction is recorded in their system to check the error code.

Do you have any idea why? Is it because of the name on my credit card and the name on N26 is a bit different? Have "Bin" in First Name. Thanks in advance.
*
I have encountered the same problem. Dunno la sebab ade "Bin" ke tak but there was a time my debit card worked and then a few weeks later, it declined again. So I just stick with using TransferWise like in my guide

For the meantime I used Transferwise for the first topup. Really weird why it was declined. Do you know the MCC code for the topup you've done successfully before? It was suggested by bank CS that if the MCC code is for Forex, then it will definitely be declined. I tried getting that info from N26 but they said they don't know the code too.
*
Ouh yeahh Just remembered about this. My Maybank card got declined due to them saying it was "forex" or some some shit they were thinking Im doing. My Bank Islam card approve the transferwise transaction everytime

aazzam14 thanks for the detailed guide for N26.
got my card and added to Wallet without any problems.
Now I couldn't resist paying with Apple Pay on any chance I got    laugh.gif

Any plans to make a guide for Curve as well? tongue.gif

PS: can the same card be added to another phone i.e wife phone?
*
You're welcome, if you have used my referral code, if you made a single purchase 15 Euros or more, I'll get a small referral reward thumbup.gif

I was able to register for Curve last year (Deactivated it since not using it) but I tried again this year to no avail. They have more strict rules and won't accept N26 card for registration, so I think that's a dead end.

Yeah you can add the N26 card to your wife's phone

Hi, sorry was busy with online classes hahhaha

Here's a step by step instruction to apply N26

Applying for N26 Account

1. Set up a "Tiptrans" account, is a forwarding service to get your physical card
2. Get your "german address" from tiptrans
3. Download N26
4. Apply N26 account but setup your country as Germany but your nationality as Malaysian
5. There will be a step where you have to video call them for them to verify your identity
6. Have your Malaysian passport ready, they will want to see EVERYTHING on it to verify your identity
7. Properly Set up your address and Name proparly (as Below)(But with your info and tiptrans address details)

Name : Your name and Lastname

Address : Tiptrans, "Your name and Lastname", Set #xxxxxx
Hauptstrasse 20
Zip : 02727
City : Neugerdorf, Sachsen
Country : Germany

8. Having your correct name is important for future Bank transfer as Banks wants the name to match 1-to-1 for personal transfer if needed
9. Having your Address setup correctly the first time to receive your card on time
10. After you have been verified, topup your account (min 20Euro) but I suggest more as this is the only time you can topup without any fees
11. After successfully toping up, you have access to your N26 Virtual card
12. Change you iPhone Region to Singapore, and now you can add your N26 Virtual Card to Apple Pay
13. After adding your card, you can change back to Malaysia (Not needed btw)
14. Your Virtual card is valid for only 30 days, so getting your physical card forwarded on time is important

Forwarding the physical card

"Assuming you have entered the correct address details"
1. Your card should arrive at TipTrans Germany around 7 days
2. They will charge you 10Usd for receiving your card
3. Now you have to set up foe them to send that card to you in Malaysia
4. Choose "Czech Post" as that is the cheapest option
5. Pay them up, Total cost would be around RM70-100 for everything
6. Wait around 10-20 days
7. After getting your card in the mail, Just an envelope, Activate the card in the app
8. You have to use that card at an ATM before that card is fully activated
9. Withdraw some money from ATM using that card, then that card will be fully activated and usable to use at any terminal in Malaysia
10. Note : Yes, that card only use 4 pin number, not 6 pin number like Malaysian Debit card

How to topup N26 Card
1. You can topup directly using your debit/credit card in the app but there is a 3% fee and a minimun of 20Euro topup
2. Some cards will give you error when toping up, so I Suggest using TransferWise
3. For TransferWise, use the "Bank Transfer" option in the N26 app, they will list out all the info needed
4. Sign Up for TransferWise, verify your identity (This one be truthful, no need to lie hahhaha) Will take few days
5. Enter all the info for bank transfer from N26 app
6. First transfer will take a few days as they want to verify your identity, but after the first one, the transfers is instant
If this tutorial is Useful/Successful for you(or anyone else reading this), please use my referral code Thank you

Other than N26, what other debit card can use Apple Pay?
*
Monzo is possible, was able to register for that but then I didn’t do anything with it.

Before this i can register with Curve so we can add in local bank card but i cancelled my account before I received the cards. Now when i retry to register, won’t accept N26 to activate the account like before

Just went for a petrol pump (Shell) near my hse, after a month of not visiting it, the petrol terminals are now all (except for lorry one) paywave-able. Interesting development. The old machine still works flawlessly and there's no complaints about it and yet, they are required to change/upgrade the terminals. Sounds like it's imminent! Fingers crossed!

Anyone's Shell still have not changed their terminals yet?
*
AFAIK, BHP had upgraded to paywave terminal since a few years back, and Petronas also had upgraded to accept Paywave for the last 6 months or more

Hey guys, I noticed OCBC Malaysia supports Wallet on the Apple App Store. However, I can’t find any online sources that says OCBC Malaysia supports Apple Pay locally. Is OCBC, the first bank to release it to Malaysia, or is it some developer who forgot to unmark the Supports section?
*
If you have OCBC acc, try out the app and find any reference to adding to apple wallet

Dont even bother asking them if they know the difference of DNQR vs normal QR. I can tell you that those ignorant ones are gonna say "ada apa kesah dgn saya?" or they will say "satu XXeWallet satu pink kaler je".
*
This specific experience with stupid cashiers like this kills it for me. One time the cashier forced me to show my Maybank QR for him to scan because that's the Maybank way and the DuitNow QR that I just scan before he was angry was for BoostPay ONLY. FML like whats the use of DuitNow QR InterBank function if we have all this stupid cashiers.

Fortunately, the cafe/kedai runcit in my college right now all pandai cashiers, only use one DuitNow Qr and just accept every E-wallet

As long as the terminal supports PayWave, AP will work (using my SG card in Malaysia)
And It seems really soon already, our iOS dev has finished building AP support for my company’s app.

I can't fathom how BXM can approve this for child use in school were it can easily be stolen by other student but they can't comprehend the security in Apple Pay

BXM has not been approached by said bank for approval. Article mentioned "currently working on" =/= gotten BXM approval or even evaluation. Just like any other stuff, as long internally or personally trying (with no real world consequences), you do not need the lawmaker/regulator for any approval.

But if BXM approved this, I wonder what said bank did right vs what our "panel" AP banks did wrong that BXM keep wanting for answers.
At most, I personally would only allow this card to be a prepaid card that parents can control. Not even linked to any CASA or even Visa/Master/MyDebit. Just like TnG card but with online control will do.
*
A prepaid card would better, as mentioned in the article, parents can set a limit.

But how bold of BSN to announce such plans of launching a device holding Bank Card info without high security/authentication
