It depends, I have customers who have multiple POS terminals to receive different sort of credit cards/debit cards including UnionPay. If the guy used Apple Pay (with a CC) on a debit card terminal, then of course it would face an error as even a physical card would have an issue on the debit card only terminal.

No it doesn't follow my card rates. My card rates for contactless is set at a default of RM250 per transaction but Apple Pay bypasses it.

Sounds like Jaya Grocer is having cashflow problems if they are worried about the clearance time for credit card payments.

It depends, at the bank side of things the disbursement time can be set based on payment type. I know this as I have worked with my merchant team on their offerings (debit, CC, eWallets, UnionPay, etc..etc..). The way in which you also make payment, whether its physical card inserting in and using PIN vs contactless vs swipes overseas, the disbursement can be set at the bank side for how long they see fit. Most of the time, these time lapse for disbursement is always to enable payment cancellation, refunds and disputed times. Now because Apple Pay has a slightly different process for refunds, I think the banks increased the disbursement time to manage the initial risks first prior to when they see a steady stream and a more predictable pattern before shortening the disbursement period.

I wonder why you guys are having so much trouble reordering your cards. Just go to wallet, press and hold your card and then move it around. The one that you move to the lowest position then becomes your default card.

Yup, so I just converted about 600k worth of treatpoints to flyer miles already. They had a bonus period if you did it before 17th of August, you get an additional 10% extra

Nothing special, just work and travel. The travel adds up especially when I go overseas and stay. Company policy is to pay for both flights and lodging and claim back. So I get to collect a lot of points. Then also when I organise company events, then I swipe my card and then claim back from company.

It worked for me this morning at 7-11 with the HLB white POS terminal using Apple Pay (paired with a Maybank VISA card).

Are you using a Maybank credit card/debit card or were you using an Ambank credit card?

Haven't yet, I am waiting to try it out as well. So far the highest I have charged for is RM580.

Ask Maybank how do you set contactless transaction limit on their credit card.
