Do look up the prices of the attractions you intend to visit online. For food, an example of a normal set breakfast I had was HKD32 per pax so lunch and dinner would be more expensive unless you eat at 7-11 or McD every meal 

I stayed in the Mongkok area and it was really happening at night with all the pasar malams within walking distance.

Nope, mainland doesn't accept HKD anymore for many years already (or a decade ago?), since the day RMB surpassed HKD in currency exchange.

Since that day, mainland people nose is higher and look down on HK people. No matter what HK people gossip/complain about mainland people buying everything off their shelves, behaviour, etc. the reality is mainland people are partially driving HK economy.
Else why do you think HK sales/front facing learn to talk mandarin on top of their existing cantonese ?

My post was like 7 years ago    but looking back is still true to me. Post covid, I'm back in HK in end 2022 and 2023 as well. I start to have this weird nostalgia HK old feeling, like the city is not moving forward as a whole, compared to the pace of all other countries. It's kind of like still stuck in 90's 2000's. While there are still new tall buildings every now and then, but I feel like China is abandoning HK and pushing SZ, GZ, SH, etc. to go up for the past 1-2 decades.

There are literally no ewallet usage in HK. CC still widely accepted at big restaurants and malls. Taxi cash only. Feels very weird when come out HKIA and the first thing when reach taxi queue, the handlers keep repeating cash only.

The Dim Sum price at there is around how much?

Also any recommendation to get smaller notes? Money changer her only got 1k notes...

Past multiple histories, in my case, dim sum average HKD200 per pax.

To exchange smaller notes, first thing come out HKIA airport, buy Octopus/Airport Express card or top-up or pay taxi (they will understand if you tell them just landed since they pick you up at airport), or at your hotel lobby 4-5*

Or else top-up Octopus at MTR stations. Everything just use Octopus to pay if possible, to avoid getting small notes/coins.

HK has their own QR payment called FPS
and is only linked to thailand's promptpay only....it's not linked to any other country's QR payment

and hongkie don't really trust QR payment..yet

Some experiences to share for 5d4n chill trip since I been to HK 5 years ago..

Day 1: Landed HKIA - Walk around TST new shopping mall - Avenue of Stars & A Symphony of Lights
~get on-loan Octopus card at HKIA MTR to get some small notes change, on-loan charges only $11
~probably you can take their Airport bus if your accommodation is near to the bus station. For eg: I'm staying at Jordan, the bus stop to my accommodation walking distance just 2 min, better than MTR

Day 2: Ngong Ping 360, Big Buddha, Citygate Outlet, Mong Kong street market.

Day 3: Cheung Chau, Central
~If you lazy like me, rent a bicycle for $40 full day, some shop charge $40 for 3 hours, just need to find the right one.

Day 4: Ocean Park
~Short queue on a weekday, Hair Raiser roller coaster is awesome with nice view.

Day 5: Random walk around Kowloon Park, flight back to KL

~Australia Dairy Company food yoyo... First day visit Scrambled egg was so good, last day visit the egg taste salty, not consistent. Their cold milk tea is nice.
