On a side note, it's gonna be a 3 person trip including myself. Gonna stay at HK for 8 days, Macau 3 days and Shen Zhen 3 days. Been reading the few pages back...was wondering if 10k is ever enough =(

2k already gone for flights. 3k for accommodation in 3 places. Left 5k for foods, transports and entry tickets. Macam x cukup...hmm..

So you're paying for 3 people? RM5k for everything else ah... not really enough k. RM5k/ 3 people = each person @ RM1.6k/ 8 days = RM200 to spend per day for transport, food and entry sweat.gif

That is about $HKD 400 per day. Transport itself easily cost you $30-$80 depending on where you go and how far you're travelling.
*
Top up til 8k perhaps? 8 days in HK...still got 3 days in Macau and 3 days in Shen Zhen. Not sure how much I should allocate for food per person hmm.gif

Also dependent on spending habit and what you'll see. I suggest you count how much is the entrance fees to places you want to visit and put the money aside.
For example if it's Madame Tussauds + Tram Ride to Victoria Peak, it could cost you $HKD200+ per pax.

Your spending money per day should be only transport + meals. Then you can estimate how much you can spend in a day.
*
I see. Roughly how much roughly is it for non luxury breakfast, lunch and dinner in HK?

My estimation (in MYR) is about 20-30 for breakfast, 30-40 for lunch and 40-50 for dinner which amount to 120 per day. Transport should be 50?

That will amount to 170 excluding entry hmm.gif

I made it for about a total of rm2k 5D including flight/transport/food for my last trip in Feb. Non luxury ofc. And stayed in my relatives house.
*
But that's for 5 days...I am doing 14 days for 3 person sweat.gif I can top up more for 3 person for 14 days.

Accommodation the cheapest and "liveable" I can find is about 1k for 7-8 days. For Macau and Shenzhen it should be around 300-400 for 3 days each place.

Did a bit of calculation...need advice.

You're right, it's somewhere along the line for prices. A breakfast in local coffee shop will probably cost around $HKD30-60 depending on what you order. Lunch is estimated $40-$80 for an average meal with drinks and dinner probably around the same. You should estimate abit more when you try more expensive food such as dimsum, roast duck/chicken etc.

Sure you can spend along the lines of what you planned earlier. However I suggest to bring abit more anyway so that you don't have to restrain yourself too much. Holiday is about enjoying food and shopping.

Oh, do I need special VISA if I were to go Guang Zhou from Shen Zhen? I know from HK to Shen Zhen can get a 5 days VISA on the spot.

Was thinking to switch the plan to 5 days HK, 3 days Macau, 3 days Shenzhen and 3 days Guangzhou.

What kind of VISA do I need if I want to travel to Guangzhau and Shenzhen? I think Guangzhou is nearby Shenzhen right?

I think you better stick to HK & Macau. You can travel to GuangZhou and spend 5 days there on your next trip, no need to rush everything.

If you intend to visit china, you need to get China Visa at service center located at Level 5, Hampshire Place Office, Jalan Mayang Sari, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (near KLCC) https://www.visaforchina.org/KUL_EN/

Regular service: The processing time is usually 4 working days: Rm104.20 (single entry)

It's a bit rush but kinda doable. HK > Macau > Shenzhen > Guangzhou > HK again for airport. I've already bought the return ticket and the airport is in HK sweat.gif

Seems like too many days to spend at HK and Macau (14 days)...therefore the idea of going to Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

QUOTE(RegentCid @ May 16 2018, 11:41 AM)
From HK to Shenzhen can get Shenzhen Visa on Arrival at Louhu Border can cost 170 RMB.
You only restricted in Shenzhen with 5 day duration.
If you plan going Guangzhou you need Full China Visa which you need apply at China Visa Center at Malaysia.

Ah I see. That's what I thought as well.
