Anyone withdraw from wise card in Thailand ATM before? It's say free for rm1000 per month. Any ATM will do correct? Mainly I see ATM is at the 7-11 outside.

Wise won't charge fees but the ATMs still charge.

AFAIK thailand isn't foreigner friendly when it comes to withdrawing cash, if you found any free ATMs let me know.

Some countries have plenty of free ATMs for foreign cards, which I have tried: Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Colombia

Hi traveler, as the person never been go outside Malaysia (exception Singapore 1 time) so i might want to go Bangkok by September by land (bus/train) backpack, what things i should do before entering Thailand as complete newbie?

Passport (obviously)
Insurance?
For paying stuff what card/app should i have? (TnG?/BigPay/Wise/suggestion)
Should i convert cash early before entering Thailand?
Should i book early the train to go Bangkok?
Is there other things i should consider?

Another notes that i will start from KL, so perhaps i took bus or train to Padang Besar i guess.
- and want to go Bangkok by land the cheapest way possible.
- I heard about the train from Hat Yai have direct to Bangkok. Anyone have this info

sorry for long post...

if you're looking to go BKK the cheapest way possible...it's call flying
but if u do via land, u can see the most stuff but it's not gonna be cheap...not even close
entering through southern border.....right now what you need is your passport and TM6 form but that TM6 form will be abolished soon and it's now no longer required at bukit kayu hitam border crossings

payment wise, carry cash is the most realistic

based on personal experience, I like to have a peace of mind when traveling (especially when I travel solo)..
if I project this to your scenario, then I'd go with having travel insurance, enough cash for backup, and booking the train early..
that being said, I haven't been to Thailand via land route, so I don't have any comments on that.. hmm.gif

Just sharing a tip based on my personal experience, for those looking to exchange money in Bangkok, Siam Exchange at Pathum Wan (near MBK & Siam Station) has one of the best rate I can find, better than those in MY as well. I found this place based on google reviews and can confirm the reviews are true.
But do remember to bring your passport, I forgot to bring mine but luckily I kept a photo of it in my phone which they accept but reminded me to bring the original passport next time.

When you top up money in WISE, they already charge you. I was try to use it on buying crypto and after compare, it was way more costly than I use P2P.

In Bangkok, there are few local Malaysia bank. I withdraw from CIMB in Bangkok before. The last time I withdraw it was slightly lower than market exchange rate but almost same as what we change in local money changer in Malaysia. If you need the best rate, I recommend you bring MYR and go to SuperRich near CentralWorld to exchange. The rate is higher a bit than our local money changer.

Hi,
I plan to travel to Bangkok next year. I have a few questions and appreciate sifus here can answer.

1. To get taxi from the airport is it still at the ground floor
2. I read about scammers at the airport. Is it really happened and how to be safe while in Bangkok.
3. Thailand hasn't impose minimum 14kbht to bring in, right?

Thank you and really appreciate your responses.

taxi driver’s mindset in Bangkok is the same as the one in Malaysia

need to be careful with them. Grabcar is a much better option.

taxi in BKK is regulated, same as HK
if they try to do something illegal, the cops there will take action
but it would be advantageous if you can speak thai of course

u might need to pay more for taxi in airport but depending if it's worth or not, is all up to you because the queue for grab at DMK airport is crazy long
