Just gone through the process of ROM in JPN Putrajaya and would like to share some info.

I guess in most cases, Chinese would like to have the ROM done in Tien Hau temple. But found out that it's only permitted if either one is Buddhist. Since we are both Christians, JPN is the best option. In order to avoid hassle, we went straight to the one in Putrajaya.

Then comes the funny part. I'm from Selangor and my wife is from KL. She can submit her form in Putrajaya. But for me, I need to submit in Petaling Jaya. Kind of odd considering that JPN Putrajaya is supposed to be the HQ. Here's the loophole. In the building itself, you can update your Selangor MyKad address to KL address. Just cost RM7. Far cheaper than driving all the way back to Petaling Jaya and paying for toll and parking. After updating my address to KL address, we headed back downstairs to the ROM department. Since both candidates are KL 'residents' now, we can proceed as usual. Submitted stuff like IC and passport sized photo. Blue or white background does not matter.

They'll provide a date for you if there's no preferred ones. The list is quite full for the month of September. So, do expect them to give you a date which is more than a month eventhough the 'notice board' thingy is 21 days. They'll inform you that the time is at 8am. But when we check the letter, it shows between 8m-11am. Information from the internet says that you need to submit the witness's photocopy IC (and nominate 2 names). But they didn't ask us for it. Still, be safe and bring it. When this is done, go home and wait for the big day.

On the actual day, we arrived before at 7:30am. There's already a couple before us and another 3 more after us. So, be there early. First come first serve basis. After presenting your letter and IC, they'll print out a form for you to double check. Verify the information. They'll ask you to wait. In less than 10 minutes (depending on crown as well), they'll announce your name and room number. Head inside and wait for the officials to arrive. During this time, feel free to take pictures.

When the official arrived, the bride, groom and witness will sit down. Others are still allowed to take pictures but be abit respectful. Both bride and groom and stand up and do acknowledge some oath thing. Just some simple "yes" and "kami faham" words. The official will read the stuff for you. Now, time to sign the cert. You are now officially a couple. The official leaves the room. You'll have a few minutes to take more pictures (there's even an arch for decoration) and exchange rings.

That's all. Feel free to send a PM if you need more info. I've heard that Tien Hau temple requires some sort of "akuan sumpah" but JPN Putrajaya seems simpler. All done in less than an hour under the same roof.

Nowadays, only certain churches is licensed to conduct the ROM during the wedding mass itself. Mainly old ones like Assumption in PJ. My parish is in a different place and my wedding is not held there. Therefore, we had to do the ROM first, then wedding mass.
As for "why Tien Hau Temple", it opens on weekend. Can save up the annual leave. But at that time, we didn't know it's tied to religion. Thought there's a JPN proxy there who can do for non-muslim.

So weird on the part regarding the Selangor and KL address.
My wife is from Perak, had her address changed to Subang, same as mine, and we got it done in JPN Putrajaya. Office there didn't ask us to go to PJ JPN. It was year 2012 when we did that.

I also done mine at putrajaya in 2014... when I submit form, they don't need witness information.. just me Nd my hubby.. we submit during weekend and three month advance for a good date... the officer say 9am to 11am but I arrived at 10.30am and I no need wait.. so the whole process only took me 30mins and I'm officially married...

what time should i arrive on that day? some say 8am..

You can also opt to arrange for a representative to come over for a fee of about RM500 i think. However, you will have to go to the nearest JPN to your house.

I opted for that so i could have the experience of being registered in our brand new home.

Are you referring to JPN Putrajaya? If yes, i think they will set an appointment for you. And it's better to arrive early because if not mistaken is first come first serve basis.

Guys need advice. What is the dress code for female on ROM day in JPN Putrajaya? I heard there are some restrictions like, need to be knee height and cannot be sleeveless.

My fiancee is having trouble getting dress that she likes because all of them its either sleeveless or above the knee.

The dress code is formal..I wore sleeveless and just above the knee dress..didnt have any problems..

I am wondering if the ROM can be done at JPN Putrajaya on Sunday. Did u do the akuan sumpah when u have had your ROM in JPN Putrajaya? As I know Tien Hou Temple and Hokkien Association Klang need yo do the akuan sumpah b4 the ROM?

If i remember correctly, when i registered at Tien Hou temple in 2011, they got asked us to do sumpah for certain documents which i cant remember d.....they will tell u the procedures as to wat to do where to go...so quite simple...

The form should be get it from the JPN Putrajaya and carry out the akuan sumpah on the same day. For your information, the akuan sumpah is quite fast if you do it at the mahkamah nearby the JPN Putrajaya. After that you can bring along the form to Tien Hou Temple to get the date for your ROM. Thats the procedure to carry out your ROM in temple.

Nope. Putrajaya didn't need the sumpah thing. Hence, that is why I didn't want to do it in Tien Hou. Because of the hassle of sumpah, I'll still need to bounce a few places if go through Tien Hou. Well, another reason is, at least one side must be Buddhist to register in Tien Hou. Both me and my wife aren't.

Hi All, i am from NS & my fiancee from Ipoh, wondering what is the procedure for us to do ROM in Putrajaya? Can we go directly to Putrajaya to change address? Or do we need to do separately in own IC state? Please advise me

For form submition and date choosing, can only one of us do it? Or have to both be there physically?

I'm also planning to have a garden ROM in one of the hotel in Putrajaya, and i wanted to invite the ROM registra to do it outside JPN. However, it is a public holiday and JPN pengarah told me the is no officers available on that day.

I'm thinking if i can reach out to the officers personally and discuss about this.

I had the exact same issue. Officially, your GF can register in Putrajaya because her IC is KL. You on the other can will need to register in Putrajaya, then bring a form back to Selangor NRD office. in short, it will be a hassle. You can't do everything in one place.
But here's the loophole. In that same Putrajaya building, you can update your IC. Change your address to KL. You don't need to change the physical card. Just update the chip. The whole process including waiting time takes less than 30 minutes. Once both IC is considered KL, head back to the marriage department and register as both KL. You can now skip the whole "Selangor NRD" thing.

2 years ago, we registered in Putrajaya. And yes, BOTH must be from KL. The person who is not from KL must take a form and get it stamped in their state. For example, if I am from Selangor, I'll need to get a special form, go to PJ registration office and get it stamped, then bring it back to Putrajaya. Sounds weird because I thought Putrajaya is like the hub for all govt dealings. So I changed my MyKad address on the spot to KL as a loophole. The MyKad process took only 15 minutes and can be done in the same building.

I plan to wed in Thean Hou temple.
Called up the dutamas JPN office for some info.

Initially they said, as my ic is selangor and my wife to be is KL, we have to submit separately.
Me in PJ, wife to be KL. Then they checked and said we can submit in KL as we plan to wed in temple.

BUT, here is the funny part, they said we have to submit a JPN. KC02 form each. Meaning to say 2 forms, 1 for me and 1 for my wife to be.
I'm a bit perplex by this.

Anyone with some experience can help to clarify?

Hi guys, wanna ask if we both have the same address on IC, putrajaya, selangor. Can we submit the form to JPN putrajaya? Im confused because even though my address is putrajaya but district is under sepang. So should i submit to JPN sepang instead?
