Anyone can clear my doubts.  I am on advanced 30 plan 1 month 199 bundled Ruby.  Been billed by tm for to total 222. I tot I just have to pay 199 plus gst equals to 212. So why am I paying 10 ringgit more?

Thanks
*
new installed or new upgrade or few month already? if new normally there is duty stamp RM10... you can check your billed, usually all itemised will be there....

If I get a new 802.11ac dual band router from TM technician to replace my RG4332 router, can I connect to the 5ghz Wi-Fi spectrum using my wireless N 300 receiver without dual band or do I have to get a new receiver?
*
yes you can as ac router not just ac type only, it support other types also like n, b and g.... and likely support 5ghz band also...

Btw. do you know Unifi fiber light signal reading value from what value to what value consider good, excellent?

Plan to get the device to test my fiber cable signal reading...
Very un consistent ...sometimes 5MB,1xMB,2x MB..
Speed up down up down..
Thanks...
*
not sure about the reading but if not mistaken less that -25dbm should be ok...

my reading at home is around -18dbm... even at my house at hometown still give reading at -17.5dbm after relocation to here...

but need to confirm all the reading...

Thanks.....

The light pen point to the connector at outside then the meter point to inside house fiber connector to get the reading ?
*
the light pen is for you to testing patch cable... unifi already have the signal...just unplug the end of the cable and put on the tester... be careful not to break the cable or interconnector....

Patch cable meaning 2 end sides with male connector to plug in  wall socket or onu?
*
patch cable is the cable connected between socket to ONU...

the light pen is just for you to test the quality and condition of that cable(or any fiber cable where dont have any signal from device). it just like when you doing your own LAN cable.... using device which contain transceiver and receiver where to check the integrity of your LAN cable...

QUOTE(zher4883 @ Nov 25 2016, 11:09 AM)
850MHz can transfer exactly same amount of data in one second as 2600MHz provided the spectrum used is equal but since lower frequency could cover bigger area, so it's generally more congested.
*
for single device yes... same data transferred in one second but imagine 100 devices connect in one tower on 850mhz?... it cannot coupe such big amount of data transferred due to congestion.

that why they used 2600mhz first place... now they used 1800mhz to improved coverage and data transfer... and skmm didnt given approval to others telco to use 800-850mhz for data right now....only tmgo and webe(where using tmgo facilities i believe as the coverage show same map coverage and i do believe also when you make call, it shifted to celcom facilities as tmgo not covered for call and sms)....

yes due to big coverage, it is easy to congested...

QUOTE(mztang52 @ Nov 25 2016, 11:27 AM)
Technically they can transfer the same speed but then when you you test it 3 km away from the base tower, you will see that 2600MHZ can provide faster speed.
*
if depend on distance, 2600mhz have shorter coverage area... so signal is not strong and may drop on speed performance...

Hi, I subsribed UNIFI biz package at Kelana Jaya business area. And i found out i unable to do tracert to any website as if it was blocked. I called UNIFI and they sent their tech onsite to check on their modem and router. After checked, they only tell me UNIFI/TM blocked tracert doh.gif . Can anyone here confirmed?
*
TM already been block tracert function since the first they laid the cable and using it for internet...

This is due to hide what going on when your internet response is slowing down and you cant blame them due to no proof.....

So, does this mean webe is not so good and will be at risk of line getting congested?
*
it is not they put only one tower there... must be few tower for allocation of the user... and sure it is based on density...

like normal telco, place with higher population will have more base station compare to rural area...

remember during highland tower case? during that day only few base station were built around there and it is congested badly at that day due to high demand(voice call)... sure today is no problem anymore as we are already have many base station....

Anyway, saw this in my OCC UniFi. Contract duration - 1 year? Is it because I only have less than a year left, so it is showing 1 year? unsure.gif

excerpt from soyacincau
I think for 2017 the price per package is not going down , the only price per Mb is going down. Nice manipulation you have there TM.

Total reduction price per package ? Maybe 2018  whistling.gif  who knows . . . You need to remember TM is a public company. So need to maintain some portion of the profit to the shareholders like me brows.gif
*
based on excerpt from soyacincau, off course it is quite understandable where high rise user maybe affected for double the speed upgrade, where vdsl is limiting factor, they need to wait until vdsl factoring come to reality first....

so can wait for price reduction, for next 2018...(besides, unifi pro also didnt get speed upgrade, maybe tm will increase their entertainment package?

Issues/Questions with the so called 'apply for upgrade'

Who?
When?
How?
Where?

Now I am pissed off with TM:
How  many  customers  will  be eligible for the BIP2017 ?
-More than 500,000 UniFi customers will be eligible for the speed upgrade.
-About 100,000 Streamyx customers will be eligible for the new package to be introduced in June 2017.

Now TM has 2.37 million broadband customers, of which over 900,000 are UniFi customers (2013 data from TM 2016 Annual report), so, there are 1.47 million adsl/streamyx user.......and only 100K of streamyx users will be eligible for some sort of new package?  puke.gif  puke.gif  puke.gif
*
unifi users not eligible: high rise, business, advance pro, people get free upgrade from may to dec. so most of unifi is eligible where i think around that figures....

and yet need to wait april onward for speed upgrade....

dont worry, just patiently paid for another year to wait another initiative to kick in which is 50% price reduction on broadband price on 2018..

With Adv 50 get free upgrade to 100 with monthly fees of  Rm229-249, Vip20 should get Adv 100 as well since monthly fees about the same range
*
vip plan have unlimited free land call and will have same benefit after upgrade(maybe down and up also same 50mbps/50mbps)... advance plan dont have this and need to add rm20 for 600 minutes..

they can get 100, but change plan first....
