Is this router : ASUS RT-AC5300 good? I wanted to buy it for my Unifi VIP50 because the one that TM gave is not so good
Where are you going to use it? At home or at the office?
If at home, how many devices will be connected at 1 time?

If not more than 20 devices, just get the ASUS RT-AC88U. It's more than enough
The RT-AC5300 is over the top for home users. And most homes won't even utilize the tri-band on RT-AC5300. Dual-band on RT-AC88U should suffice

But if you still insist on getting the RT-AC5300, it is still a very good choice. It's a monster really thumbsup.gif

Save some money so you can get the ASUS RT-AC68U
Or buy it through monthly installment with 0% interest using Maybank EzyPay thumbsup.gif

Still worry paying RM249 for VIP20, ended up getting 50Mbps after free upgrade while the current 50Mbps users paying the same and get 100Mbps after upgrade.  rclxub.gif
But then, I don't wanna get locked up into 24months of contract again. You'll never know VQ comes in end of this year also.
Call TM helpline at 100 & tell them you want to terminate
Ask them the steps on how to terminate your UniFi subscription

Someone from the promotion team will call you back soon to offer upgrades without signing new contracts
It may takes some time (a few days) for someone to call you back, so be patience

atleast allow them to give explanation. they can put ads add their signature.
Orang cakap tak boleh, tak boleh la
Read the forum R&R, it's not allowed to post any sort of advertisement in here

Advertisement in signature is a different story, nothing to do with what I warned him about

Damn. Tried both Maxthon & Microsoft Edge, loading time takes forever sweat.gif
QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 1 2016, 11:16 PM)
No issue as I browse using phone now.
Tested on phone (phone connected to Wi-Fi), also slow
But when testing using mobile data, lelong loads fast

Time to get new IP (restart router)

XeactorZ and I are not using IPv6 though, not sure if that helps.
Oh yeah, just realized that
Nevermind, I'll just restart my router first

Disabling IPv6 will be the last resort laugh.gif

When my phone connected to WiFi.. speed slow..
Used mobile data more faster....

Tried other mobile phone models still same issue..
Since installation of Unifi ...about 3weeks...till now.. WiFi slow.. restart router.. onu no help..

Previously used P1 ..no such issue on WiFi even net speed only 1MB...

Problem with the dlink D850l?
I'm not having Wi-Fi issue, that issue was something to do with my old IP address
I never had any issue with my Wi-Fi

PS: I'm using ASUS RT-AC68U. I don't use any of the TM (Huawei, D-Link, TP-Link) provided routers, they're all crap, no matter what model you get whistling.gif
QUOTE(zzzhhhzzz @ Nov 2 2016, 08:31 AM)
hmm unifi now having the RM179 promotion agian... but i think its without free calls... do you think its worth getting it ? Or should get it next year due to the latest budget announcement.... was actually considering between UNIFI (RM189/month) vs MAxis Home fibre (RM136/month) ... hmm good RM55 difference per month.... Any advice from forumers here ?
Get UniFi. Yes, they're expensive but always keep in mind that as bad as TM goes, they're still the best ISP in Malaysia
If you want to save money by going with Maxis, go ahead, but be reminded that you will be tied down to a 2 year contract before you can sign up with another ISP icon_idea.gif

Addendum: The best ISP in Malaysia is TIME Fibre, but since their coverage is very very limited, they're out of the picture

hmm but i thought MAxis is still TM since they are using TM infrastructure ?
No, they just tumpang "some" of TM's infra, not the whole thing, the rest is still Maxis
QUOTE(zzzhhhzzz @ Nov 2 2016, 09:18 AM)
do you think TM will come out with cheaper package next year in line with the latest Budget 2017 announcement ?
Don't know
