Probably is still similar to WiiU concept, but with some enhancements/upgrades

the processing will be done on the handheld controller/mobile gaming device, which can be taken out to play without relying on the main console
the main console box connecting to TV just act as casting medium for display on TV, and charging station for the controller

controller can act as a second screen like wii u

The  format is in cartridges. Means there is no need for huge storage in the console itself for installing games like a PC or other consoles for faster loading time. If Nintendo kedekut enough, they can make the developers allocate 4GB as read/write memory for save games/dlc/update etc..and they even need less storage in the console.

I see they will give 64GB to 128GB max for internal storage for the eShop games download.
*
pls no more of that 64/128gb puny storage shit
Storage are cheap nowadays, pretty sure plug in a 500gb HDD is cheaper than using a 128Gb flash memory
in this digital era, 128Gb is like nothing, download a few games and it's full already doh.gif

Malaysia internut still slow macam tahi in general. Digital media ok lah, cartridges now is very small. Not N64 cartridges. LOL.
*
Lazy old man like me is lazy to get up from the comfy bed to switch games,
walk few feet to the console to pry off the cartridge, plug in another, walk back to find back the comfy spot
too much energy and too much hassles! laugh.gif

Unless the physical version is so much cheaper, only then I'll go for it
else, digital FTW! tongue.gif

I used to sell of my physical copies as well, but since past few years, the amount of physical copies I sold off can be count by one hand only tongue.gif

Btw, haven't got a WiiU as well, few things holding me from getting one is the lack of games I wanted, Zelda & Metroid!
also the frigging region lock! doh.gif
and lastly, the digital games are tied to machine rather than your account doh.gif doh.gif

NX already crossing off one of my list, but I doubt the stubborn old jap executive farts in Ninty HQ will do away with the remaining two!

But at least it's unlimited. I can just leave it on standby overnight and download all the games no problem. I kinda already sick of switching carts on my 3DS especially on the go. Not to mention having to keep the small carts at a safe place to not end up like this guy.
Disc based hdd eats up battery power so most likely have to use SD cards.
*
SD/flash mem on the handheld, disk based HDD on the main box, you can sync your games over to the handheld from the main box to play on the go

probably it might be something like the marriage + upgraded version of PS Vita + Vita TV

Thats why I also assume that they sell 2 type of physical (WiiU and NX) for same title cater for WiiU as well, if they didnt plan to axe out the WiiU. Just like the newly announced Zelda.

And I realised some of a few person I saw that owns XB1 they also prompt for digital. Reason? No point of buying physical just to waste space and install like ps4. Straight away DL dah boleh main. Why do you want to make it like a PC?

Physical seller like Kyo will go out of business tongue.gif

Tell me about it, brought Bayo 1&2 (still sealed), XenoChronicle (still sealed), FExAtlus that one (sealed), Devil 3rd (used brought but didnt play). You say la whats the point of buying game. Only open Mario when I went to friend house play together. In a serious dilemma of selling off the WiiU or not

if no region lock, RM2K? I'll consider within 1st year of launch
but if region lock + digital games tied to physical console again? Bye bye Ninty
not gonna buy it within 2 - 3 years launch

Region lock, region lock go away~~~
Don't come back another day~~~

Btw, I'm sold on this concept, start saving up now tongue.gif
need to save up at least RM300 per month till march cry.gif

btw, there'll be at least 3 batts in it, L/R controller + the main screen
batt life on the main screen will be the main concern for most of us
I would safely say it's around 2 hours of mobile gaming per full charge

also seems they ditched the touch screen interface, and the motion detect

also hoping the internal storage is expandable type
plug in a bigger sd card and you're go!

or perhaps a switchable m.2 sata SSD? which is small enough to fit into the console

oh well... without an official Nintendo presence here, we can safely say the price will be inflated to at least RM1500 to RM2000

well... kinda strange for me they didn't plan an earlier release like december 16
just 3 month earlier, shouldn't be that hard, right? hmm.gif

if they launch during the year end holiday season, pretty sure they are going in for the kill... Ninty share will skyrocket again

but Spring release? hmm.gif

since the controller is detachable into L & R
I predict there'll be a lot of streamer playing a single player games with 2 guys, one controlling one side of the controller

yeah, it's been done before, but this will make it a lot more easier and more fun

oh well, traditionally Nintendo hardware always lagged behind the likes of Sony & MS
hardware powaar is not their forte, as they are building a hybrid portable system this time, anymore more powerful than a PS4/XB1 is a hindrance to the portable system, too power hungry, batt life/ heats/ size will be a big challenge

So if they said the new console is having around the 50% power of a XB1, I would say that's realistic enough

but then, Ninty gonna play catch-up to Sony/MS again like WiiU in the graphic dept.
New players nowadays are more demanding in graphics, lesser on the gameplay, unlike the old fags like us who are more into gameplay than graphics, so Ninty will have a hard time to capture the attentions of newer gen of players.

Also for those NS buyers?

I think majority of the buyers will be either long time Ninty fans, or those multi-consoles players (PS4/XB1 owners), buying NS as their secondary or 3rd consoles.

Most first time buyers usually will go for the PS4/XB1 rather than NS

doubt NS will replace the 3DS
Ninty gonna release a new portable in near future to replace the 3DS, which also will complement the NS, I'll bet on that

Why? simple, you can't fit the NS into your pocket! laugh.gif

If I were to get the NS, I probably only will use the portability within the house, especially in the toilet tongue.gif
but for daily commute? no, it's too big and cumbersome
long commute or long flight? maybe, but I'll still prefer something smaller like 3DS XL/PSV

So it's NS also targeting the player base of the portables?

will those 3DS players willing to swap to something much bigger and more expensive? Something less portable as the 3DS?

It will be a great risk for Ninty trying to merge their consoles market with their handheld market with NS,
as currently even WiiU is a flop, Ninty are still being save by the huge profitability from it's handheld market.

So if this time they put everything in one basket, and if it flopped, I doubt Ninty can ever recover from that flop.
