The milky way is definitely a fantastic subject. thumbsup.gif

You think the 12-35 f4 will be sharper that the 12mm at f2? Coz dxomark tested the oly 12mm and found that the sharpest aperture is f2! And this is where I intend to use it. Since you have both, can you shoot something with both lens with this criteria:

subject: brick wall, camera on a tripod

12-35 set at f4 x 1 photo

12/2.0 wide-open x same photo

12/2.0 f4 x same photo

Wah! hopefully not too much to ask eh?  blush.gif

I already tested long time ago, 12-35 @ f2.8 and f4 will be sharper than Oly 12 @ f2.8 and f4. So the purpose of Oly 12 is the need for f2.0 for low light (or maybe a bit more of background blur) and just for the size and weight advantage. 12-40 is even sharper at 12mm compare to 12-35 from corner to corner. biggrin.gif

I forget to stress, unless you are pixel peeping you won't be able to tell which photo is taken with Panny 12-35 and which one by Oly 12. They are both sharp enough for most usage.

Not a pixel-peeper myself so I am ok with the Oly 12/2.0. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the Oly 12mm. drool.gif

GF8 no doubt thumbsup.gif despite it being a 16mp sensor only but its newer, smaller and has much more lens selection. But if you can get a cheaper A5000 then why not?

Sony festival/promo now I think, A6000 about 2.3K only but I rather top up a bit and get EM5 + 12 50 ( weather seal rclxms.gif )

Typo: It's A6000

Is this with kit lens or just cam body alone? If combo with kit lens I would say its a fair price. If cam body alone then it's rather pricey, you still have to top up to get a lens.

I had received my 12/2.0 a couple days ago (after a long wait of nearly 10 days ranting.gif), a black handsome unit, and had tested it for AF speed and the clutch manual focus, both working perfectly.

The lens looks smaller than I expected, probably because its without the hood. I am looking for after-market lens hood for this baby and not the ori one which costs a bomb.

Here's the link:

OLY 12mm f2.0

They are running a promo now.

You can get the same lens from Lazada, too, same seller.
