Aircond belt, V belt, fan belt, outside belt, serpentine belt all the same.

why same belt different name?

1. Serpentine belts: A serpentine belt, also known as a multi-vee, poly-v, or multi-rib belt, is a single, continuous belt used to drive multiple peripheral devices in an automotive engine, such as an alternator, power steering pump, car's water pump, air conditioning compressor, air pump, etc.

Someone shared before in this topic, SC will charge about Rm60 to RM80 for 1 key as long as you still have the original key and do not lose the chip inside. They will transfer your chip to a new set of keyfob and duplicate the key. But since you lost 1 of the key, if you want to make another spare, you could ask them for the pricing. Outside shop may be cheaper if you have any trusted shop.

I did called few shops on the key remote and casing. For whole key remote price range RM 120-140. For only casing price range between RM 30-50.

since already incurring high cost on labour, might as well change full set

timing belt set + water pump + fan v belt + belt tensioner (for fan v belt)

Guys can recommend the most suitable lubricant oil for Proton Saga BLM 2008? I mean 5w40, 10w30, 10w40, etc. Seldom drive the car. Use the car 2-3 times a week only (mainly on weekend). Plus driving short distance only. Within town area. Thanks in advance for providing input.

xW30 or x xW40 is ok,
x don't care, because x is viscocity for winter condition.

any brand is fine, like castrol magnetec, castrol edge, petronas syntium 800, rock oil, petro canada etc.

rule of thumb, if mileage is 5-7k or lesser within 6 months, sufficient use semi syn engine oil.

if you don't really care about your engine performance, i say petronas syntium 800 10w40 is sufficient for you.

Can Proton Saga BLM 2008 use 6PK1669 fan belt? Because some advice to use 1669 instead since 1677 will be a bit loose and might damage tensioner in a long run. Thanks in advance for providing input

1677 for blm, just use it since 1669 is for flx.
even timing belt for blm is different than flx.

FLX use the plastic tensioner, use 1669 belt, 1677 normally for campro equipped with metal tensioner. I used a 1677 on my flx before, when u attack a pool of water or cutting thru 15-20cm flood water, the belt will slip. Or even when the engine is running, you pour water to the belt the compressor will stop spinning as it slip.

when belt slip your AC turns warm and steering may or may not have intermittent "hard to turn" issue, alternator light may blink too.
