l change the broken ones only.. labor rm30-50 per side.

Better change all at once. If you change by piece you accumulate the labour charge, it is the same or more expensive than changing whole set. I buy proton brand from outside and ask workshop to change.

No lah bro. Loaded better change at Proton SC. They can easily charge you near 200 per piece. The reason I said change all at once is to save the hassle. Otherwise you change 1 piece then after a while change another side, you calculate the cost is more or less similar if you sekali gus change everything. This is only to be done once in many years.

actually engine mounting is how many parts? i just changed recently at SC , only 2 parts..

4 parts altogether. But SC will usually change the pieces which already spoilt, unless you request them to change whole set. Can you share how much is the charge for replacing the 2 pieces?

if car kind of feel heavy and gegar (not exactly gegar, but feels more like handbrake not release) when speed hit 50km/h and above, most probably what is the cause?

no gegar when idle, so not the mounting
the gegar area is at the back, middle, somewhere between the tyre

already sent to SC, the said no problem at all

i suspect the brake pad is done but SC cakap masih ok

dunno what to check anymore

Try drive without AC on, see if still have problem.

how much and where to duplicate a key & remote for Saga BLM?
*
If immobilizer chip still around, can replace at any accessory shop. Just replace the key and remote, use back the old chip. It cost less than RM50. However if replace at SC using old chip, the key and remote cost RM60 plus. You still need to cut the key yourself at any shop.
If you lost the immobilizer chip then prepare to spend more than RM100 outside. Don't know how much SC charge if need to get a new chip.

If you dup at SC, I think it's not surprising RM180 for new key including the chip. Outside locksmith will also charge you RM100 plus unless you can salvage the old chip to transfer it to the new set of key.

How much for saga blm car key replacement? The lock/unlock button tercabut and left a hole. Alarm button is ok.

I need to change the whole key+remote or just get the button ? Pricing?

Thank you in adv
*
Depend on where you replace it. If SC price around RM60. They will replace the whole keyfob and transfer the immo chip from your old key to new key. You will need to bring the key to nearest shop to duplicate after that.
Alternative way, if you love DIY, you can buy the keyfob from shopee or any accessories shop, program it yourself and transfer over the immo chip from the old key. After that just bring to shop to duplicate and you can use it.

Thanks for sharing bro. If replace at sc centre , did they offer duplicate key service also? Want to avoid the hassle
*
I don't know, but the SC that I went to replace before they do not have duplicate key service. They just program the new keyfob and transfer chip. I have to bring over my spare key to drive the car because oldkey cannot se without the immo chip.

I believe my key doesn't have immobilizer chip (the area in the key is empty, but I still can start the car). Finally died after so many years. Shopee got sellers selling replacement key (either the standard one or the flip design one which is more exp). Wanted to check here first though, how to DIY programming if I want to. What is the equipment needed?
*
No equipment needed. Make sure you buy the right key according to your car key frequency. Just a few presses on the buttons on the old remote and new remote to duplicate. I'm sure some of the seller do put in description on how to do it.
But since your old remote died, you have to depend on your spare key to DIY. If both also cannot, then I think you have to seek help from accessory shops or SC.

Luckily old remote not dead, just broken (casing broke ,still can unlock and lock the car). Okay thank you for your useful sharing. I assume if seller says BLM supported then should be no problem frequency right?
*
To be safe you better check first the frequency of the old remote. Some 433MHZ and some 315MHZ, you don't want to end up buying the wrong type. It is labelled inside the remote, I think you can ask seller on how to check this.

My next service cost (quoted based on proton service site), 120K KM/72 months
Car not even 80K KM yet, but over 72 months already.
Huhu, kopak.

Is it possible to get it lower at outside workshop? but scared they will not do it properly and tipu (guna barang tak ori or skip certain services but charge me full  sad.gif )

That Timing Belt Kit include Water Pump eh? because I cannot find Water Pump in any service period on Proton website

user posted image

Maybe you can buy some of the parts like engine oil, spark plug and those which you are familiar. Then just ask workshop to do it. Some small SC also they will happily do for you with labour charge only even if you provide own parts. But no warranty lah since you do not use their parts.
For water pump, actually not a must to change together with timing belt kit. But because the process of changing water pump alone is tidious and almost similar to changing timing belt kit, hence some mechanic will recommend you change both at the same time. Don't know what's the practice in SC.

Hi guys.. What is the fan belt model for saga flx? 6pk1669 or 6pk1677?
*
Original is 6pk1677. But I have also heard some mechanic saying that it is better to use 6pk1669, which is shorter hence reducing the tensioner bearing sound.

I see but I have already made the order lol 😅 because my car mileage is 362k the fuel consumption is no improvement even after I service the car at Proton SC with upgrading the engine oil to fully synthetic, tuning engine and throttle body 🙃 and the exhause got noise whenever the car is in idle mode. The mechanic at tree shop told me that the carbon inside the exhaust not circulating well hence why the exhaust is noisy and fuel consumption too will be higher but when I asked Proton SC they told me that it's normal since it's already 13+ yo car and they said fuel consumption won't be increased due to this. I don't know who is telling the truth regarding this issue. My primary fuel is Petron.
*
Maybe can let the trusted mechanic from tree shop to have a look. It's 13 yo car and you have nothing like warranty etc to worry about.

Hi guys, I'm driving a Proton Saga 1.3 S Saloon, 2013 edition. My mileage is around 125,000 KM.

I've always serviced my car at Proton Official Centre so all the parts are genuine (I hope) and usually there's no issues on the road.

Recently I''ve been experiencing my car jerking like a manual shifting gears when the car comes to a stop and then resume jalans. Like in traffic lights.

The jerk can go from a quick 2s jerk and then changed gears and can also jerk super crazy like going to "mati engine". Usually in these 2 situations I'll just try to press the accelerator gently to ensure it doesn't "mati engine" and to "makan" the gear.

I checked at to the Proton Official Centre but they told me it's the gear box problem because of "wear & tear". Need to pay about RM7K including labour to fix. Says its a common problem and nothing much I can do about it.

The mechanic mentioned I can continue driving it and go fast etc but it'll soon become more frequent and that's the time when I'll need to really fix it sad.gif

It's an Auto Transmission and I have never move the gears from N to D and vice-versa during traffic lights (cuz i read before ppl say it will harm the gears more than doing good), so it's quite sad to kena this problem.

Anyone facing similar issues before and any suggestions? I have 3 solutions in mind;
1. Try to fix outside of Official Centre and see if can get OEM for cheaper (maybe RM5K-ish)
2. Sell my current Saga (probably can fetch for RM6K-ish) and buy a new Saga FLX.
3. Explore new & higher budget cars - probably a Toyota Vios.

I'm leanings towards 1) cuz I already fully paid my car loans, but I'm also worried this will be the start of many more problems - cuz usually after you fix 1 part to be new, the older parts may not work/collaborate as well.

Thoughts?
*
Try to get a second opinion from outside workshop or other SC. in most cases jerking may not be gearbox problem.

Today marks the 11th anniversary of my Saga FLX.
At the time, I was only had a contract job, hence I can only afford something cheap. Kancil was too small for me, so I went with Saga instead. And it was the cheapest and most basic variant of what Proton was offering at the time. 1.3l, manual, no add ons, no frills.

11 years on, and only 81K on the speedometer
user posted image

And the car still works well. Well, as well as an 11 year old car can work. I haven't touched the air conditioning in years since it saps so much power from the engine. But with the air-con off, man, that campro engine really feels responsive. You would quickly be revving up to 4K without even noticing.
The manual transmission still feels tight and firm, but for whatever reason the check gearbox light always randomly turns on after an accident 5 years ago. Mechanics never found out why, so meh.. I didn't bother with it.
Except for some replacements parts, everything in the car is stock, down to the terrible stock rims. Also I do feel that the suspension really do need a replacement. But even then the car still feels agile. Zipping through the KL traffic is still a joy with this
*
Haha... Maybe give the aircond a major service and it is good to go.

Because when I bought the car 11 years ago, Grab is nonexistant. That being said, i never liked ridesharing. Just bus or LRT  biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, usually I leave my house around 6am and back home around 8pm, so I never feel much of driving under Malaysian heat
*
Haha agree on that. To use e-Hailing for long period is also an inconvenience as need to consider factors like price fluctuation, some areas which hardly covered by e-Hailing services etc.

Thanks but I read that already. It's just the usual fluids, was wondering anything else.

If the car is running good, generally you just continue to use it unless you are aware of something that need fixing like suspention, mounting, worn out clutch etc. Also if you have the service history to look at, you can roughly have ideas what else need to change if the previous owner skip something during major service.
