hi all, i wanna ask, can i use the apple watch without iphone? or precisely, im a swimmer guy, interested on the new fitness apps design for swimming. can i use the watch with an android phone and go for a outdoor walk without bringing any phone?

and I really don't see any point to get series 2 since series 1 come with dual core processor

it can't pair with android phone
as for using it without iphone, no idea better ask those sales staff at those apple premium reseller

it can be its a fitness watch on its own but end of the day, you still need to sync with an iPhone to look at the data collected from the watch.

Does the series 2 have an IP rating? It says can stand up to 50m but I can't find its IP rating

Also what is good about having a buildin GPS other than to track your run or hike? Any other uses?

I think the processor should be more efficient which should translate to better battery life. However Apple didn't mention it at all during the keynote so it remains to be seen.

3rd. Knowing you exact location in real time. May be a good thing, may be a bad thing.

I think it's more useful for serious runners who like to track their running distance and location. Other than that, I suppose you can use easily track the watch if you lose it, just like using Find My iPhone

can the Map app use the GPS?

Is apple watch warranty international like the iPad or the Macbooks?

Every Apple product including the iPhone has valid international warranty, in the countries Apple exist as a company. It is for the standard warranty though, not for the extra AppleCare/AppleCare+ package.
