Seems to me like they are making refinements on the Apple Watch and called it Apple Watch S.

The big redesign is coming for in 2017 alongside iPhone 8, marks 10th year anniversary.

but they do upgrade Apple watch series 1 with dual core
don't know what the point get series 2

So they can sell 2 almost identical product at once.

One Upgraded and another considered as New.

battery life still the same but i noticed one thing - series 1 price dropped from 1499 to 1299 (42mm case, sports) ?
and when will series 2 be available here?

While we're not in the first or second wave of iPhone release, looks like we'll get the Apple watch series 2 sooner rather than later

whats the difference between Nike+ edition and the regular one? i see same price. does the regular watch have the same Nike+ fonts as well?

With watchOS 3, the existing Series 1, would be good enough, probably I don't wear watch to swim & play Pokemon Go

Series 1 doesn't have GPS built in, so if you're going for a run you'll need your phone with you if you're tracking your run route.

Yup, but they mentioned also they will upgrade the processor on the old series 1 to be the same processor as Series 2. Buying one now from a retailer would almost certainly be the older version I guess?

Apple Watch Series 1 vs Apple Watch Series 2: Performance improvements

The first Apple Watch used Apple’s S1 chip running at 520MHz, paired with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of total storage, although only a fraction of this was available to the user for music and photos.

At launch, the Apple Watch was a little sluggish. But this improved with the introduction of native watch apps in watchOS2 that weren’t reliant on a paired iPhone and further improvements were promised with watchOS3 that sped app times up even further.

Unsurprisingly, Apple has upgraded the specifications of the Watch 2. Using a new dual-core S2 chip it claims offers 50% more performance. A new GPU promises double the performance. Native app gaming performance should see a nice boost in terms of frame rates.

Surprisingly, the Apple Watch Series 1 has been updated with the same S2 dual-core processor, so if you buy one now you'll get the same performance upgrades.

then what the point getting Apple Watch series 2 ? except swimproof and build in GPS

no reason to buy Apple Watch at all thats why this thread is so cold...
