is there traction control TCS in new civic?
*
Civic comes with VSC

"Stability control is an evolution of traction control that bites one or three wheels — or even cuts the power — to send a car in an intended direction. Imagine driving on a snowy road with the steering wheel cranked to one side, but the car is plowing straight ahead. Stability control often cuts power and brakes wheels to move the car where a driver is pointing it — with limited success sometimes, but it's better than fighting Mother Nature all by your lonesome.

Traction control only limits wheel spin; stability control can maneuver a car. Or, in bourbon/whiskey terms: All stability control is traction control, but not all traction control is stability control."

I think either of these 2 would be an improvement over stock halogens. Though it would still be yellowish in light. If you want a whiter look, you can try Philips Diamond or Crystal Vision; but light output would be less
*
Just changed mine to Philips Crystal Vision 4300k. biggrin.gif Looks better for me although still a bit yellowish vs DRL. Really cannot tahan the yellow light beside the LED DRL. sweat.gif Overall feel slightly better lighting than Ori Halogen. Easy installation. I think is easier to remove the wire socket first then only the bulb. Sample for those who are looking for 4300k bulb smile.gif

nice, how is the light output at night?
*
Feel slightly better output than Ori at night. Clearer & wider view.. may be because of the whiter light output. Dare not go for pure white >5000k afraid polis kacau & heard halogen pure white perform badly especially at night when raining unless go for HID.

Best review still Osram Night Breaker & Philips X-tremeVision.

Brothers.

I need honest answer.

Is 1.5TCP got over heat issue?

I keep hearing people saying this and they say I should sit in service centre whole day to verify it.
*
75 owners here driving TC. no issue at all. Even you try to google Civic turbo overheating, you hardly find one except for the Thai 1 case.

Many Toyota salesman try to talk bad about Civic to revive their dead Altis bruce.gif I see some comments really make me laugh. such as new civic interior quality no diff from Bezza, Altis interior quality much better, civic space like city or have seen a few civic towed for past few weeks.. bla bla bla...

Hi guys.

1. Can 1.5 Turbo maintaining their speed 140-190km/hr for a long period like 2 hours at highway?
Cz I read the comments in facebook said any turbo car cannot maintain their speed in long period of time. They said its waste to have a turbo. So they suggest buy 1.8 or NA engine for reliability.

I need to confirm this from you guys as owner of 1.5 turbo because I want to make civic as my daily car. Sometimes I need to use car for travel using LPT2 from Jerteh to Dungun.

2. How about the cost for maintenance of 1.5 turbo? How many MYR they cost in average?

I'm in dilemma in choosing ether 1.8 or 1.5.

Give your opinion guys and sifu..
*
1. If a Turbo car cant maintain 140-190km/h for 2 hours on highway, then you will see a lot of overheat MB,BMW,Audi,Porsche,Ferarri,Bently,Peugeot, volvo etc breakdown on highway tongue.gif . Most luxury cars are using turbo engine now and even the japanese manufacturers are starting to use turbo like Honda, Nissan, Lexus etc. Only joker will say is a waste to have a turbo coz still living in cave.... brows.gif

I did my 1.5tc with QX + ultra 70 on Monday. Brought my car to office for the first time. During lunch time earlier, I felt very hot on the windscreen. Side windows was not as hot as the windscreen. Took back to the shop. The SA said its because the windscreen mirror itself is made of double layer (true?). therefore it absorbs more heat. couldn't do much. disappointed with the windscreen quality.
*
Under hot sun few hours in Malaysia windscreen sure very hot and definitely heat up the car interior no matter what tint you use. Just that good tint once you go in with aircond, car will cool down very fast and you wont feel hot while you are driving under hot sun. Im using Ultra 70 and RX, totally satisfied. way way better than Rhinepro XD 5 installed in my other car that cost 1.5k.

hmm.... I feel that the civic's sound system is below average. Bass is not being pumped out well. Anyone feels the same? Anyone upgraded their system?
*
Actually play songs from USB MP3 quite ok but sound from radio so so. For me is a lot better than my previous City and better than my colleague Altis.

Honda always give basic sound system unlike Mazda with Bose.. Change the sound system now Im afraid will have warranty issues sweat.gif

Personal preference, i booked 1.5 TCP.. 1.8 just doesn't give me the urge to want it  lol.gif
*
Yeah.. this is why 70% of the Civic sales go to 1.5Turbo despite more expensive & higher maintenance in the future.
The power from 1.5 turbo really satisfying & fun. Cant resist.. btw life is short, enjoy to the max brows.gif
Is a small turbo from Honda, definitely will be a lot cheaper to maintain than the european turbo yet can enjoy the power almost like a MB C200 or BMW 320i that cost 100% more. Off course can try VW,Peugeot, ford turbo if you dare.. biggrin.gif Just my opinion...

Initially i also considering 1.5 TC as just different by RM10k only with leather seat, 17" sport rim and 1.5 turbo engine. Not to mention the cheaper road tax.

But all i need is a reliable car with appropriate power, i learnt that those turbo car as per some members highlighted in V1 or V2 thread, turbo engine will drop in performance after 6 years or may need overhaul and require more frequent oil engine service (about 7k km).

Secondly the resell value likely will worst than 1.8cc as per current second hand market for turbo car compare to ordinary car.
The second hand market just not believe those special car like turbo or hybrid engine.

The most important is when i test drive 1.5tc, the engine is so loud and shaking. I n my wife can feel the vibration in driving cabin. This 1 really push me away. I'm wondering probably that due to show room car n everyone just tekan it to the max n spoil the engine.

I'm driving a 1.6cc car which could push to 170kmh easily. Hence, i think 1.8cc is good enough to satisfy me. Moreover, the top limit is same as 1.5tc since the machine is capped that way. What's the point of getting higher power if u cap it?
*
Not the matter of top speed. If 170kmh.. even myvi or saga can hit 170kmh. In our daily drive, we seldom drive up to this speed. It is the satisfying feeling when you step on the accelerator and the instant acceleration & power especially the 220nm torque from just 1700rpm from Turbo that makes the different. But still up to individual. Powerful engine only will be appreciated by ppl that enjoy the power. If often drive slowly with no hard acceleration, then no point to get Turbo also. 1.8 still the best choice...

Ru sure the Civic 1.5T is far more powerful? I agree if you say its slightly more powerful but far more?  hmm.gif

The Accord 2.4L churns out max 225Nm torque at 4,000RPM and its a conventional auto not a CVT which has lag.

I estimate the 0-100kmph acceleration for the Honda Accord 2.4L would be about 0.5secs slower than the Civic 1.5T which is barely noticeable.
*
Civic 1.5T indeed more powerful than accord 2.4 & can feel the diff. Accord is 250kg heavier and max torque only achieve at 4000rpm.

In US the 1.5T 174hp civic drag race 0-60mph can even beat Civic SI 2.4 with 205hp not to say the heavier accord with only 175hp.

Power delivery in Turbo is always better than N/A especially the max torque from 1700-5500rpm

Wa very bold sia. I was going to go for 50% but i heard the tint management nowadays very strict depends la maybe you met a funny easy going staff during spot check . Better do not get caught ... now very serious. My friend kena before fine 1000$ just a month ago only but I dont know about Kop negotiations i la

I only 30% all windows and 70% front windscreen.. Because normally i wind down windows when queuing up for car spot check or notice them to avoid kena trouble. So windshield go legit legal

IF front windshield under legal % they will spot easily.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your friend kena fine RM 1k consider cheap dy.. biggrin.gif new ruling "first time offenders fined up to RM2,000 or six months jail while repeat offenders can be fined up to RM4,000 or 12-month jail sentence, or both"

I think the new ruling is not updated in JPJ website yet..

If too worry and 1.8 power is sufficient, then just get the 1.8 Civic. HR-V if you really prefer higher ride (Main priority).

Civic basically is better in specs, comfort, stability/handling & nvh than HRV. & you are comparing C segment vs B segment. blink.gif

Im not worry about the Turbo engine at all.. Turbo is nothing new & Honda produced their first turbo car since 1982 (Honda City) + i believe in the reliability of Japanese tech & soon will have accord turbo, crv turbo or may be city turbo? biggrin.gif

I just enjoy the power & enjoy my ride everyday.. brows.gif

when service the car, it stated 1k or 1 month whichever come first, if my car haven't reach 1k, have to send it to service after reach 1k?
same with 6 months or 10k service, if i seldom drive the car, have to go on time?
*
Must go service every 6 months even the mileage is low else they will void ur warranty especially the engine. 6 months consider good..my other car crz need to service every 3 months or 5k. When service mileage is only 2-3k with fully synthetic oil.! Really crazy. Tried to talk to service manager but the same reply "have to follow the terms & condition in service book" there was 1 time late for 2 weeks+, system prompt out and I'm unable to get my free labour service and have to pay for it. Btw crz also come with 6 free labour. Max they can accept is 2 weeks...from Honda old Klang road.

Is anyone here having this issue as well? mine is 1.5TC, after a long journey under rain situation my headlight is having some water vapour. my projector lens also having some spot like the picture.

Install HU bypass socket right after collected my car today. Overall great, can play movie in the car, but the sound quality is quite bad, not really can feel the bass. I feel like my 2013 Honda City have better bass than this civic.  rclxub.gif  how you guys configure for bass?

Currently my oil life is 9k plus, but i got 'A' showing, is that normal? Pic below not from my car but haveing the 'A' which i circle in red.

Mine also having some vapor on the first few days of delivery. Don't worry, after 2 weeks or so everything will be ok. No more vapor. May be after hot sun, rubber become soft and cover all the gap. biggrin.gif

Thanks for that. Looks good!! Bit rich for my blood at the moment. I'll keep it in mind over the next few months.

For now, have to stick to waxing... tongue.gif
*
Cheaper option if don't really want to spend few k for coating . I would suggest get ceracoat ceramic coating (From Swizerland). One bottle RM 70 (50Ml) can coat 2-3 times. Coat every 6 months to 1 year. Is a lot more effective and lasting than waxing. & every week can just wash your car with Turtle wax car wash. My car still looks shiny, water repellent and not easily get dirty after 3.5 months. Satisfied. biggrin.gif And my car 24 hours park outdoor with sun & rain...

Just my suggestion smile.gif

Thanks!! I'll contact them.

Do they have a shop where they can wash and apply the wax for you or only cash and carry?
*
Nope. You pay and they courier to you. Not really need to go there cos is even easier to apply than wax. I can do one full layer coating in 45mins-1hour.
